Hi Gang - I've never posted on this board before, and the 'search' function is not working now, so I'm looking for some input. I have never cruised before.

I've always said that if I were to take a cruise, i would want to cruise up in the northwest, whether or not Alaska was included. Found a 4 nite Princess cruise which leaves Seattle, spends a day in Ketchikan Alaska, then disembarks in Vancouver. I'm so excited to go. Has anyone done a similar trip? What do I need to know? The trip is in mid September, so it's after 'high' season, and I imagine we'll be a bit cool/cold.

I'd appreciate any helpful advise you all could give me.

Thanks!

HI,
I can't find the cruise your talking about. I'm from Seattle and I thought all four day cruises have been canceled. I just went to the Princess site and couldn't find any 4 day cruises at all. My sister was looking to send her daughter for her birthday. So could you tell me the name of the ship and the dates.
thanks

Hi Thatmom -

I found the trip on Yahoo Travel. Star Princess, one trip only.
Sept 20-24. Seattle-Ketchikan-Vancouver. $499 for balcony stateroom on one of the upper decks.

Hope this helps....

My in-laws just got back from a 7 day Alaska cruise on Princess (the Star or the Sun??? can't remember). They had a GREAT time!

Morning 2TxAgs:

Not an alum. But my connection is fairly close.

Last fall, a very good friend of ours was installed as President of Texas A&M.

My wife and I were fortunate to be invited, and what an experience. Bob had told us what a great group of people Ags were, but you know how you hear that...

The first evening there, DW and I were walking aroung campus around 10 pm and walking near the student center ("please remove your hats...") and we noticed about 50 bikes parked outside. Not unusual, until I noticed they were almost all unlocked.

The next day for the inauguration, we waited in the Green room with President and Barbara Bush and the New president's family.

While we were in the inauguration, the DC sniper started shooting in my very Maryland neighborhood of Silver Spring.

In spite of the hoopla, Almost every person came up to make sure our kids were ok.

Went to see trooping of the cadets and even a texas tech vs A&M game. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!

The people of Texas and College Station especially are real Good people.

My daughter wears a maroon out t shirt as her pajamas nearly every night.
