These are so great!

I absolutely LOVE that Christmas book design.

And thanks for doing up the Konk Kooler special for me. That must be another one of those things I dreamed up and thought really happened!!
I understand about the motivation thing. The last few weeks before I go see Mickey, work goes out the window. All I want to do is think about/get ready for the trip.
I don't mind the questions, in fact, I am so jazzed that I welcome them! Just as quick background, my son is a distance runner, and has been since Middle School. Absolutely LOVES running. Don't know where he got
that from.

Couple years back I had some health issues that required me to get serious about losing a bunch of weight and getting in shape. And it took some time, but I did it. With my son's encouragement, I started a serious walking plan. January of 2009, DS ran his first Half Marathon at WDW, with his proud parents in attendance. We had such a blast at Marathon Weekend, I decided to set myself a goal of doing the 5K (as a walker) at WDW the following year. Fast forward to this past January, and I did my first 5K, and got my first medal! Woo Hoo!

In September I also did the
Castaway Cay 5K. This year, Hershey PA decided to hold their first Half Marathon event. DS was thrilled to find one close enough to college to participate in. Mindy was thrilled to find out they had a "relay" option that allowed you to do the race as part of a team, with each person doing half the mileage (DH not as thrilled with that, as he was elected to be the other half of the team

). My long term goal is to do an entire Half Marathon at WDW in 2012, so this was a great opportunity to try an intermediate length race. This past weekend was race weekend. DS ran the entire race, and bested his time he did at WDW. DH and I walked, and I beat the time I was shooting for by 15 minutes. I am still on an adrenaline rush!

Oh, and DH survived the ordeal, and surprised himself by enjoying it all (although I beat his time by 6 minutes)! So we all have medals, and sore muscles. But it was totally worth it!!!

None of us came in first, or anything close, but most of these races give you a medal if you finish in the allotted time frame (they almost all have pace requirements). But for me, finishing was the goal (although, to brag a bit, my DS finished fifth in the 5K at WDW in January).
Aren't you sorry you asked?? Like I said, I'm still jazzed about the whole thing, so I tend to get carried away talking about it! One of my co-workers asked me if, two years ago, I ever imagined the path my life has now taken. Like I told her,
never in a million years. But it's all good.
