Cruise Line Transportation to Contemp

I think the DCL shuttle bus goes to certain resorts, not all of them. I can't say for sure if CR is one of them..probably is though. I know I answered, or tried to anyway, a question for you in another thread. So, I have to ask...are you staying at the CR when you finish your cruise?? Or are you just going there to access MK more easily?

The DCL busses from port go to all WDW resorts. There may be more than one resort on your buses route, but they will take you to any WDW resort.

You need to claim your luggage from customs and then bring it with you to the buses, which will be parked outside the terminal. CMs will be there to direct you to the correct bus.

Moderator ... my plans are so up in the air; we've got a year. But I am considering staying at the Contemporary, yes. I love that it is so close (walking distance) to DisneyWorld. And that is the only park we're going to during our trip. My only definate is the MNNSHP. We've also been to Chef Mickey's before.

If we stay at the Contemporary, we won't do the Magic Kingdom all day ... just for the Halloween party at 4pm. We'd just hand at the resort until then. But if we don't stay at the Contemporary, I'm considering an inexpensive off-site hotel (perhaps near or at the airport) since we won't be in it - except to sleep. Then we'll go to the Magic Kingdom all day (from cruise boat to fireworks at the end). Can't decide between plan a and b.

I used it to the boardwalk they put us a in a nice van with a nice driver and he took us and two 8 other to the resorts. We made a stop at a modrate forgot which one then becah club then us it took around an hour for all the stops it was nice. We thought we have to ride the bus and make more stops but we went to mears showed we had the transfer told them where we was going and they helped us with or bags onto the van. he was fast unloading at each resort he got the bags out made sure you was okay with getting to the front desk with your bags. Now going we left out of the beachclub and we roda on a bus they sent two bus and they was full so i guess they busyer going to the port from the resort then bring people back.

we are going on the dream in feb 13 and we thinking of doing the same thing.

Please help clarify something for me-

If I am going from the cruise to a WDW resort and using DCL buses I'll need to collect my own luggage? It's not sent directly to the resort as with DME?

you will need to claim your bags and carry them through customs then take to where they have the buses and the cm will direct you to your transportion being a bus or a van.

don't wan to highjack the thread but curious do you have to have taken a Disney cruise in order to take the disney shuttle? If you had taken another cruise line but were staying at disney after could you go to the disney port area and catch a bus?

Yes, you have to take a Disney cruise to use DCL busses to WDW because there is no other way to pay for DCL transport.
