I just discovered that since I paid off my Disney cruise a few days ago, I cannot get insurance through them. I had been planning on buying my insurance through them (and am rather annoyed at my agent for not asking me about this, I thought it was a part of the package she gave me), so now I'm at a loss. Who do you by through? Our cruise sails in mid-January, and the reason I want it is just in case someone has a stomach bug that prevents us from getting onto the boat. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

I havent used them but Insure My Trip is usually mentioned. And when I looked it seemed that their price and coverage was the same as what Disney offered. I usually dont purchase the insurance but I did for 2 of my booked rooms. I am second guessing and think I should just add for the third room. Did your agent imply that you could have added the insurance prior to the final payment?

Yes, she said that I could have added it until we paid off the balance. And here I thought I was being good by paying it off a few weeks before it was due! lol Thank you for the suggestion too, I will look into Insure My Trip.

Any chance you paid with a credit card that includes trip cancellation insurance? We had to cancel a cruise at the last minute due to gastrointestinal issues and we received a full refund through the insurance provided by Chase Sapphire Preferred. -- Suzanne

If you want Disney insurance, ask her again. I thought it was at the official PIF *date*, not just the date you happened to pay in full.

We have purchased through Allianz twice. Thankfully, never had to actually use it but they offer it free for kids under 18 and a few different coverage levels.
