HELLO , I say HELLO [forgive me, not trying to be:rolleyes:] , By buying resale over DVC direct it will save you a TON of money. On 170 pts. we just bought we saved $ 5,800.40 over DVC direct , and next month DW and I are going on a $1400.00-4day cruise with the money we saved. Oh, I failed to mention , the other $4400.00 stays with us also. Please ,please use your HEAD and not your POCKET BOOK. :thumbsup2

Yes, but not everything someone wants can be bought via resale. While saving money is nice, buying something that is not what you want to just save money also makes no sense. DVC is a big investment and there are a lot of things that should go in to making the decision. Cost is one of them but it is NOT the only important piece in the decision.

We could have saved $5000 last year going resale over Disney too. How? By choosing a home resort that we didn't want. For us, not worth it and over the course of the contract, very little, IMO, to ensure we were at a resort we knew we would love (BLT).

It is great that you found a resale contract that met your needs AND saved you money. And I agree with you that new buyers need to know there is a resale market and should certainly check it out before deciding, but sometimes, going direct (and getting whatever incentives they are offering) can also make sense.

Just got off the cruise on Friday the 13th and they were offering great prices for 160 points and $500 dollar ship board credits for Grand California and Hawaii plus great prices per points -- around $100 per point at 160 point level.
