Just wondering when everyone usually books their cruise. Never cruised before. I know they say further out is cheaper, but the prices for next year seem high as of right now. It is Easter weekend when we could go, which I know is a peak time. I hate when our spring break is over Easter - too expensive!!!!!

As a rule rates will only increase.

The exception is IF they have rooms to sell and offer a *GT rate, but that would be within the PIG date for everyone, so pretty much last minute. If you don't care if you have a cruise, you can risk it. Otherwise I would book ASAP.

Only itineraries for Dream and Fantasy have been released for 2015.

Dream itineraries (3n and 4n) before and after Easter are still at opening rates. Fantasy (7n) that involves Easter has gone up about $100 per person since opening day.

We are looking at a 3 night Bahamas cruise. So do the prices usually stay at opening rates for awhile, or change up and down from now till cruise time? I haven't checked into the refund policy, if we decide we want to do something else. It's so far in advance.

I had options on the Magic and Wonder for February 2015 (Presidents' Week)... I wasn't looking for Easter, but I know the Magic and Wonder ARE in fact out for at least through February.

We just booked our very first cruise - 7 day western on the Magic. It departs on April 5, 2015. Easter. I figured I'd rather get in the game early. If we ultimately decide that it's too much $, we can back out without penalty for quite some time.

Come join the insanity! :-)

They usually just keep going up, unless the cruise isn't selling well. An Easter cruise usually sells very well. You can get a full refund up til the paid-in-full date of 75 days before your cruise.

It does seem like a long way away, but that's just the way holiday cruises are.

FYI - concierge deposits are non-refundable - they can be transferred to a future cruise.

If you book insurance with Disney, it won't apply until PIF (pay in full day, 75 days before sailing) but it does not cover pre-existing conditions. If you want such coverage, you need to do it on your own but those require payment within a week of booking, and are non-refundable.

A deposit of 20% of the cruise fare is what's required. But you can book an inside category and this will preserve your booking date. If (prior to PIF) you change to an oceanview or verandah, you will be paying the rates based on they day you booked, not the prevailing rates. Of course, you would be subject to availability and would have to pay the difference in the deposit on the spot.

Hope this helps...

No, itineraries for all 4 ships have been released through April 2015. I am booked on the Wonder for the end of April 2015.

Oops - you are right - Kept on thinking about Alaska and Med for Wonder and Magic and forgot about the early sailings.

Easter sailing on the Magic are still at opening day rates...
