Cruise booklet arrival

I'm 44 days out from my cruise and I had seen online that you usually receive the cruise booklet with the info and luggage tags sometime between 45-30 days from your cruise. Does anyone know when it usually comes between those dates?

We sail on Dec 10th and ours came a couple days ago(about 32 days out). If you used a travel agent, some agents have them sent to the agency first. I don't, I just send direct to client. So if you don't get within 30 days, check with your TA. Our cruise has all the correct ports and times but says Eastern instead of Western Caribbean on it, lol....

Our agent got ours, and said they were about to send it out, but when it didn't arrive, I called and reminded them, and then they sent it. So it could be hung up with your TA if you used one. They wanted to add a bit of their own information and personal touches, which was nice.

I think you answered your own question. It will come 30-45 days before your cruise date. Basically whenever the post office puts it in your mailbox during that time period.

Our TA got ours on the 24th of Oct and our cruise is on the 26th of Nov. So about 30-ish days.

We cruise on Dec. 29 and it's a surprise for the kids (Christmas present). I keep checking the mailbox to try to intercept anything!

Exactly. It's not going to come on any one day. Depends on where you live, how long it takes the mail to get there, etc...

If you do not have it at least 21 days before the cruise, be sure to contact DCL and they can send you a replacement if you would like.

I'm not saying they are not nice to have but people seem to freak out about the booklets. They aren't really necessary. We just check in online and print out that form and bring it with. If you don't have luggage tags just tell the guys taking luggage the cabin number and he will write up new tags. I have gone a few times without booklet or tags just because I forgot it.

thanks for the helpful information! I live in Florida so I figure it couldn't take too long to mail to me. I had seen some people say they are really important to have before the cruise so I just wanted to make sure I got it in time.

The special sailings booklets (Halloween and Christmas) are really very nice and one reason why you might want to get it to have. But totally not necessary at all otherwise. .

I didn't bring my booklet with me but the non-DCL staff person would not let me into the port of Miami without it...I freaked out and it took a great deal of time and some radio calls to gain admittance...just my experience (I had the printed out documents with me but clearly someone instructed the person to require the booklet)

Why was it needed to gain entry to the port? I thought it was just info about the cruise and your luggage tags?

There was just ONE time at PC that the first gatekeeper ( I will call her Zool) even asked for the travel book. This was on cruise number 10 and in all of the sailings before that I was never asked.

I think the DCL staff was a bit annoyed with her as it was holding up the car line to get into the parking areas and proceed to the terminal. .

Often the booklet is used to confirm that you have a reservation for THAT ship on THAT day in THAT port. Since the books all look alike.

We've had our book checked for entrance to the port/terminal in San Diego, Port Canaveral, and Barcelona.
