Cruise as kids Christmas gift

I actually bought the playing cards for DS13 (he loves playing solitaire), but I am hoping DS7 will know some games by then too. He hasn't gotten into YuGioh or anything like that yet - which surprises me because his brother was HUGE into Pokemon at his age. I think he's too busy being obsessed with action figures (like Batman and such)! Anyway, War would be a GREAT game to teach him - maybe I'll start working on that! Thanks for the good idea!

Hey Michele -
Just thought I'd let ya know I finally did post over on the cruise meets boards - so you can look for my short novel over there!

Thanks for reminding me about checking that out - maybe I'll "chat" with you over there some more!

Hi Jamie,
On DCL they have a contest to win a free cruise. You have to follow five clues to find five puzzle pieces to complete a map. Once you're finished you can download the map onto your computer. You could copy this idea on Christmas morning with your boys and send them on a savenger hunt around your house. I love your idea of giving them a cruise for CHristmas by the way :flower:

Oh FUN! Is the contest on their web site or is it something on the ship? I have been thinking of some kind of scavenger hunt too - we have done them in the past and they always love them - I liked the puzzle idea someone posted earlier too and this idea uses both...I could be onto something here... Thanks for passing that along!
Jamie

Hi Jamie,
Oops!! I forgot to mention the contest is on the DCL website. There is a link when you go to their web page that you click on to get started. I did the scavenger hunt last night and had a blast figuring out the clues.

Hello, we went on our first cruise at the end of Jan 2005. We kept it a secret and suprised them on Xmas morning. I had 3 boxes identical for each boy. The first one had a new bathing suit. The 2nd one (in Disney Store boxes) had 2 new disney tee shirts and the 3rd (in Disney boxes) had a certificate I made on the computer with graphics and the whole scoop! They were surprised and excited. If you want let me know I think I have the certificate saved and I could e-mail it to you. My e-mail is maguires4@hotmail.com.

Not a cruise, but same concept.

We're surprising our kids with a trip to WDW in September. They have no clue. Our plan is to tell them we're going on a weekend trip (to explain all the packing I'll be doing), and then tell them the day we leave.

For the surprise, I ordered a message gram Mickey Mouse stuffed animal from Disney Direct. He's holding a sign that I had printed to say, "See you at Walt Disney World!" There's a printed card inside that says, "Surprise! We're going to Walt Disney World!" I'll wrap him in a fancy box, point the cameras and let them open it.

Can. Not. Wait.

Kristen

:wave2: I just sent you an email for a copy of the certificate you made too! We are also planning a surprise DIS Cruise! :Pinkbounc

Kristen17 I did send you an e-mail for that certificate - thanks for offering! :goodvibes

I am loving all these ideas! :cool1: I don't know how I'll choose, but I guess I've got plenty of time for the idea's to perculate some!

Michele - still haven't gotten over to the DCL sight to try out the scavenger hunt thing, but maybe I'll get a chance to check it out tonight. I hope it's not too hard - I am blond after all - (and I pay extra for that! :rotfl2: )... Just a little joke - no offense to my fellow blonds out there!

Hi Jamie,
If you need help with the sweepstakes there is a thread on here about it with some advice. Probably the harder thing will be figuring out how to download the treasure map and print it out. LOL
