Cruise activities for 18-20 year olds?

So, I'm a 19 year old college student going on a cruise the 20th of this month, and since i'm too young to drink, and too old to go to any of the teen "clubs", I was wondering if anyone had any idea if there were any activities for my age range. AFAIK, there's an 1820 club, but don't know what they do.

If there's not a club I'm more than happy to just go out and meet people, but those kinds of activities generally make it a tad easier.

Club 1820 usually meets for one activity per day. You want to go to the first meeting because that is when you meet everyone and vote on what the rest of the activities will be. My daughter had a couple times where she was the only person with the CM on our last cruise, but she was okay with that. Activities that I can remember were a brunch meet up, ice cream sundae, learning to make coffee drinks/smoothies at the Cove bar, and the later night adults only shows. There was another time where the group all kind of ran in to each other on the ship and they decided to hang out together for a while.

You will be allowed to attend all of the adult activities throughout the day/evening, but won't be able to drink alcohol.

Depending on the interest and amount of people in that age range on the ship, the 1820 Club can really do it right. They do lunches and events and activities including Cove Café tastings and special events on Castaway Cay. One cruise I was on, the 1820 Club was everywhere. They did everything together and looked like they had quite the time during the cruise.

As noted, the 1820 Society has some scheduled events, however not as many as the kids and teen clubs. My DS has been on 5 cruises in that age group and most times he has found a good group of kids to hang out with. They do some of the events and then will even meet up at night to go to the adult game shows and variety acts. On our last cruise a bunch even got off the ship in Jamaica and hung out together. On his first cruise in that age group though, he went to the first night meet up and no one was there. A CM didn't even show up. So that one was sort of a bust, but the others have worked out well. Enjoy!

So I'm curious if it's a strict 18-20. I'll have a newly turned 21 year old college student with me on our next cruise. One who chooses not to drink. I'm guessing she'll be too old for this group (kind of sad since they're mostly college aged kids)?

That's probably true. The group used to be called the "Club 18*21". But, it was figured out that the 21 year olds were able to purchase alcohol, causing some issues. So it was renamed and eliminated the 21 year olds.

There have been reports where 21 year olds were allowed to participate with the 1820 Society group, on occasion, but I don't know that I'd count on it.

Yep, I'm thinking she won't even try. But it's a shame that it works this way since that's basically the age group she's in (kids in college). I guess I can understand the alcohol becoming an issue at times, though. It's good to know what to expect, at any rate. She's not much a "joiner" anyway since we see our vacations as family time.

My DS said there have been times when older "kids" joined in with them. As noted many of the activities are unofficial and just the group hanging out, doing their own thing, so no one is checking who is there. I would guess the official events may be monitored for age limits but anyone can spend time with anyone they want.

My daughter was 19 last cruise and will be 20 this cruise. She went to several of the 1820 events, smoothies in the cove cafe and another. There was only another girl who was in college also that attended but I could see how a newly turned 21 who liked to socialize would be welcomed by the group, especially if it was small. Couldn't hurt to try.

Hi there! I've cruised at 19, almost 20, and 21. There were lots of things for me to do (on the first, I had just graduated from HS). I went to some of the adult shows and stuff on my last two Panama Canal cruises. If you go on a longer cruise (which has less kids), she'd like the adult only times in the clubs. I LOVED this even though I was one of the youngest people there

Any other 18-20 year olds going on the Disney Dream March 16-19, 2018?

Im also around your age. To be honest, 1820 society isn't well liked by majority of the people who go. For me and the people i've met, we usually go on the first night and meet eachother, go to the tube, and for the rest of the week don't actually do many of the scheduled 1820 events. Its really hit or miss being this age group, ive had one where i met awesome people that hungout everyday, and ive done a cruise where there wasnt as many kids and i didnt really click with. On the good ones, we usually would go to the Tube at night, watch whatever show they had, and then stayed till close :) They are not strict on older people being involved, i mean what can they really do about that. If you have more questions you can message me!
