Viking.......long story, give you the short version for now. She returned in August after getting a divorce from her cheating husband. German law, she got nothing. She is 45 and totally broke, no retirement NOTHING. She came back to the states with promises from friends of great jobs and nothing panned out. The job market stinks in Michigan where she is. She had a great job with Bosch she was the liason for all the foreign people that would come over to have meetings with the big wigs! I think she is just happy to be back on US soil with her son.

Hope the weather is good there for you. It is going to be 70 here today. Loving the warmer temperatures.

Sorry to hear that, Hope.
She must have had the wrong lawyer. Usually the German divorce laws strip the husband. Friend of mine is being stripped right now (But he deserves it).
But if she worked for Bosch she must have paid into the German manndatory pension funds (About 19% of her salary). And after you've been two years out of the country, you can get the money - as far as I know. A friend of mine, who is from New Zealand, did it. He worked for four years in Germany, went back to NZ and two years later he got some kilobucks refunded. Perhaps she should inquire in that direction.

Thanks for the advice!! I'll pass it along to my sister. I believe she signed a pre-nup because his family is very wealthy. It was read to her in a way that made it sound okay. At the time she didn't speak the language very well.

Must get outside and do yard work.

Hope

OK it's that time again! Just 31 more weeks!!!

Hope...so sorry to hear about your sister:mad: I hope she finds
something soon.
Bosch also has a plant here in Charleston. My SIL worked there for several years. It is a wonderful co to work for. The benifits are some of the best of any employer in the country!

Eric, I wish you and Anja were going to be at the Radisson on Friday night:(

So..was there a chat this am? I took off early to run errands, and to bring DD to Girl Scouts. I dropped her off, then did a few more things. When I went back to pick her up I locked the keys in the car!!!  I HATE it when I do that! I had to wait for DH to come to the rescue with his set of keys(My Hero:D )

TwinAve...so...where is the kids list:confused:

I am not sure where we will be staying Friday night. I am torn between staying on the beach and the Radisson. I guess it all depends on what time we leave home that morning. It is about 650 miles and we can do that in 11 hours. If we leave early enough, which I am sure we will do, then we could play at the beach for a little while.

Does any one know the exact cost of parking at the port. I have heard that it is $7, & $10. That might be a deciding factor. I don't really want to spend $70 on parking. But I am such a control freak that I don't know if I want to wait on a shuttle either. I want to be to the port around 10:30. I am so excited that I will have to make myself wait until 10:30 to get there.

Okay, back outside for more van washing and yard work.

That is especially bad luck, as a court in Germany just ruled that many pre-nups are rendered void, because they deprive the "poorer" spouse of too many rights.

Mary,
we shortly thought about it, but it would cost us a day at the parks. Also we rented the car for 21 days and would just waste one day. That Friday is my 40th Birthday and originally we wanted to celebrate it on the ship during a back-to-back-cruise, but as this is impossible this time, we'll do it in WDW.
It would also be great to celebrate it together with all of you at the Radisson, but we'll have the whole week to celebrate aboard and Anja's 34th BD will be when we're at Grand Cayman.

Here I am catching up on some of puter work and watching Carol Duval on HGTV ... love her show. Guess cause I'm into crafts.

Art & AshLee are checking the insides of their eyelids on the couch right now (for you German's-that means taking a nap).

Eric ... Please take care of yourself and HEAL! It takes a little while to learn that you should not pass off things when you feel yucky. Sometimes that bites you in the be-hind or in your case throat.

Yesterday I was reading a George Carlin calendar and he had a ?
 Are there are truly blue colored fruits or vegetables ?
Don't say blue berries cause they are more purple - and the skins of the stuff isn't what is meant.

Have a very Mickey Saturday ... check back later...................

Can someone please send me a PDF version of the new cruisetoberfest list? I just recently downloaded a new Outlook Express service pack and it did not accept the attachment, I have it fixed now to take it.

Thanks
Dan

OK, I have gotten the list. All I had to do was forward it to our main email address.

Thanks
Dan

PS Can someone help me down size some clip art for our signature?

The closer that y'all get to your cruise, the more I wish we were going. I have been busy with work and traveling so I don't get to spend much time keeping up on what has been going on here on the boards anymore. My DW keeps me up to date on all of the goings on the planning for Cruisetoberfest II.

My delight when I do get on the boards is that some things don't change! Dan, Rosemary, Cathy, Mary, Eric, Anja, Papa, and Kathy are all furiously posting (forgive me if I missed anyone)! There are also so many new friends on thie Cruisetoberfest II. Cruisetoberfest I seems like only yesterday.

We are looking forward to several days at WDW next month during the kids spring break and then a week at VB at the end of May. We had to curtail out cruising this year...4 last year was a bit much! We are going on the Navigator of the Seas in September for my DM's 70th birthday and then we are going on the Innaugaral sailing of the Mariner of the Seas for Thanksgiving.

I hope my post finds you all well and that the winter has not been too tough...
Take Care...

Kevin

Hi Kevin,
it's great to hear from you!!! I just had to think of you last week. I put the pic that was taken at St. Marteen during our regatta as a background-pic on my office-PC and when a collegue came by and admired the pic, I pointed out all the people on the pic. I told him that we are going to meet many of our friends again and told him that you still are a "May-be".
But some of my crazy co-cruisers already started talking tentatively about Cruisetoberfest 4 in 2005 :p

Please say Hi to the family

Kevin,

I was afraid to look at the post after seeing you had posted! I was hoping that I would see that you were joining us, but nope you are just teasing!

Wish you were going.

Matty204--maybe we could link our dining together along with OKWmiester (the other Minnosota family) and our kids would get along fine--Kelsie has already emailed Sarah. Don't exactly know how to do this but maybe Dan would help us (if you want). Mary Jo

Kid's List Update:

DD and I spent the better part of 3 hours getting the kid's list ready tonight. Got it looking good on wordpad, then tried to send it out. No luck. It seems ever since our last computer crash and burn, nothing works right. We probably lost some important software. I'm just not computer literet to find and fix the problem. I guess I will just e-mail the list to everyone and hope for the best. But I will have to do that tomorrow since my butt is sore from sitting in front of this computer for so long tonight. :(
Night everyone. Later, Ave

Well, the Tigers lost their game against Mount Vernon. They put up a good fight, but the other team had a lot of height on them and they beat us badly in the rebound category. Still very proud of our boys. They had a GREAT season. Wait 'til next year.....

Tuli, Corey is not on the BB team. He plays Soccer and LaCrossee. We just enjoyed watching the high school basketball team. I really enough their games much more than the freak shows they call professional basketball. I see a lot of similarities in professional basketball and professional wrestling!!!

Kevin, GREAT to hear from you. Still hoping you will decide you can't go a full year with out a Mickey Cruise and will join us on Cruisetoberfest II. After all along with Robin's family and our family you were one of the pre-cruisetoberfest cruisers on the September 23, 2000 cruise.

Ave...e-mail the list to me and I will see if I can put it in Eric's format.

Cheese...sorry about the Tigers:(

Kevin....I was also excited to see you had posted! I thought you were going to say you were sailing with us.You still have time to change your minds!!!!!!!!

Eric...we will just have to have a belated birthday party for you on board! And another on Anja's birthday!!!
