Cruise 10/11/2003

CdnMickey..never heard of "Skunk off" but I am going to send DH to Target to see if they have it--all of our regular stores closed at 5:00 p.m. because it is Sunday--the tomato juice at least worked a little but we can smell it everywhere--DH said that after she got sprayed once, she ran to the house but saw the skunk move to run away and she ran at him again (don't know if skunks are capable of spraying twice in one day or not)--DD is concerned that everyone in school will smell her!! I can also appreciate getting DD up in the morning--her school starts at 7:51 a.m. and she is usually still in bed at 7:20--the school bus comes at 7:25 so of course, she never makes that (we don't have to pay extra for that) which means that I have to drive her to school one town over and then I just leave for work (a 5 minute drive) so I get to work at 8:10 and don't start until 8:30! My just became a teenager and knows all of the answers to everything--I told her I don't now how I was able to survive in the world all of these years without her advice!! She is a good kid though!!

Bettemom..I am going to email you (from my home email address) regarding where and when we will be in Vermont and we can meet in either VT or NH (I've only been to NH once and that was when I was a kid to visit my dad's aunt in Manchester, NH--I remember that you had no state tax on purchases--is that still true? We don't pay tax on clothes or shoes or basic necessity food items. You can either email me at home or at work!!

Thanks to the email updates I am able to keep abreast of some of the action on this thread (otherwise I tend to lurk whenever possible). Please put my two children down for the kids link that you and Ave are heading up. My daughter, Cori, will be 15 and my son, Connor, will be 10 in October. both have been on the Western Cruise last year in October and are really looking forward to meeting new friends. I will let them know that they will both be included in a kids thread. Last year we cruised the same week with a group of Dis'ers and we had a fabulous time. "Beano" was the lead Dis organizer. He even created a masterpiece of a dvd video for all of us who participated!!

okwmiester...I think we may have actually met before--did we meet you years ago at DVC Vero Beach and our daughters hung out together and then we went out to dinner at a restaurant on the ocean? I remember going out to dinner with a family (sure the dad's name was Doug and he was a school principal) and we talked about how cool it would be to shop at the Mall of America and you told us that you weren't too far from there? We sent Christmas cards a few times but then I misplaced your address.

I will forward the information to TwinAve--her daughter is keeping the list and I'm sure that she will email you for additional information--what a great cruise this is going to be!! There is another Minnosota family travelling (Matty204) and Sarah (DD) has already been emailing his daughter. Sarah has made so many friends from all of the world by doing this--we went on the HAL Alaska cruise two years ago and she still keeps in touch with the kids she met on that cruise.

I saw the pre-view of the flower show last night on our local channel too. Looks so nice. Would love to go down and take a few pictures. Got a new digital camera last Sept and I'm trying out all my newly learned techniques on flowers.
But I digress (sp) - I don't know when the show dates are. I work next weekend anyway. May Geo will take Fri off and we can go then.

Rich the Nissan plant is located about 20 miles to the east of Nashville and the Saturn plant is also about 20 miles southwest of Nashville. There is a Mercedes plant located in Tuscaloosa, Al that is about 220 miles southwest of us. The subaru plant is located in Indiana that builds the outback and the baja. The foresters are still built in Japan. Oh forgot to mention that there is a toyota plant in georgetown Ky. I think that the bmw SUV are built in south carolina.

While we were at walmart Kathy and I saw a big cooler, you know one of the big white ones and we said if we put that thing is Ave's cart full of beer that would weigh her cart down and we could just zip right by her Mike

We're back from the frozen North, and we are so glad to be back in Florida.

Our weekend went well, but boy was I suprised to come back to over 15 pages of new posts. AND, I was only gone for 3 1/2 days.

Anyway, I'm too tired to respond to everyone tonight (I was falling asleep reading all of these posts for the past 2 hours).

It's Spartanburg, Mike and they also used to build the Z3 there, which is now replaced by the brandnew Z4.

hi everyone:

go away for a weekend and it takes forever to catch up on all the posts.

went to pa for the weekend and wouldnt you know it we drove home on sunday in all the rain and 1/2 hour after we got home the sun was shining brightly...

i absolutely love trading spaces and tape it when we're not home on a saturday night. i like amy but really like ty.

my brother is going to disney this week and am i ever jealous. at least i have the cruise to look forward to.

Guess what! There is a great big yellow thing in the sky this morning! It has been a full 17 days since we last saw it and it is glorious! The down side is....heck, there is no down side to it! It is beautiful. My mood has lifted. I feel so much better.

We kept the Katie monster last night. She woke up a couple of times but went right back to sleep again. This morning I fixed her a 4 ounce bottle of milk instead of her regular 8 ounce bottle so maybe she will eat for us. She never eats for us in the morning.

Gotta go to PT this morning. But I think I found out what is wrong with my arm though. I noticed it yesterday after we picked Katie up from her mama's house. It's HER! She weighs so much that it pulls on a tendon in my upper left arm and hurts like the dickens! It makes my arm feel weak. I think she weighs about 25 pounds now. Now, how do I not pick her up? I guess I will have to keep up with the excercises and hope for the best.

Welcome to the new ones. I am sorry I don't keep a paper with a list of the newbies while I read and catch up on the boards but welcome!!!!!!

It looks like we are going to have a fun time with the hunt. I am so looking forward to this trip. Hope the hurricanes stay out of the area.
