Cruise 10/11/2003 Part 2

Eric, Scarlett is an automatic. I am older now and appreciate that feature. I learned how to drive on a stick shift and I made sure my children learned to drive one. My son can almost drive one but by the time he learned how to drive we had automatics.

Any way, we have had trouble with the headlights more than anything else. One blew out on the left side then a week after that was fixed the right one blew out. Mike thought he could fix them but when he started, he realized how complicated it was and took her to the dealership to get them repaired.

Only one more night then I will have a bunch of days off. (So I can work at NFN) I just want a few days off so I can do some sewing.

BTW Mary Jo, did you ask Kim about that project we talked about at the motel? I hope she can do it. I really want to make up what I talked about.

From Nashville, we will be bringing Goo Goo's again unless someone wants or can think of something else. I really don't like them that much. However the Buckeyes are great!.

Eric, did I ever ask you about the cheese made with tomatos? My sister, Debs who had the stroke used to talk about that cheese all the time. She loved it! I don't know if you could get it here but I would love to get her some and I would gladly pay for it and the shipping. Deborah used to live in Germany when her husband was stationed there.

Vice versa, Jen:
We will land in Orlando 09/20 and head directly for Crystal River where we will stay for 5 days, then we go to Indian Rocks Beach where we will stay for a week. Then it's 9 days in Orlando, the cruise and eventually back to Europe.

Cheese with tomatoes? I need more details, but I will look for it in the supermarket. With the shipping I would wait til the temps are bit more favourable for perishable goods.

Hummmmmmmmmmm I am shocked... Is it a Cream cheese. I know a lot of Turkish Stalls make a Cheese paste with sun dryed Tomatoes in it....

It's 5:00 am in Ohio, looking at thunderstorms again.

We booked excursions yesterday, the anticipation builds.

The Nautilus in Grand Cayman for Colleen and I, my DM and Josh will be on board a glass bottom boat.

Cozumel Beach Break for just playing in the water and sand in Mexico.

No plans for C.C. as of yet, has anyone tried the para-sailing?

I have to run for now, I'll try to get on later in the day.

Crystal River is great, Jeff flies into that airport alot since there is a Dairy Queen at the end of the runway..

Indian Rocks Beach is nice, but for even better beaches, take a day drive down to either Seista Key or Sanibel Island.. For a closer beach that is quiet and pristine, Honeymoon Island or Captiva Island.. Gulf Coast beaches are amazing

last time we were at St. Pete Beach, in 99 on Treasure Island, 97 & 95 at Clearwater Beach.
We have a 1-bedroom-efficiency with direct beach access in Indian Rocks and will spend our beach-time there with our fridge in direct reach
In Crystal River we won't have much beach-time as we're doing our PADI-Open-Water dive-certification there.

I heard a lot about Sanibel and Captiva. Perhaps we'll give it a try when we're going to Ellenton Factory Outlet. Sanibel or Captiva in the morning, shopping in the afternoon.

I tried to book excursions, yesterday, and they told me I was a day early. We are doing the Atlantis Submarine Excursion in Grand Cayman, Tulum Ruins and renting bikes on Castaway Cay.

They have a glass bottom boat on castaway cay, now. That caught my eye.

My DH wants to try the parasailing. He was going to do it in May when we were in the Bahamas, but he decided against it. But, with the opportunity to do it at Castaway Cay, I'm going to go ahead and sign him up.

Eric,

Ellentown isn't far from where we live, it's about 20 minutes south of us. However, Sanibel and Captiva are about 2 hours south of that. So from Indian Rocks, I would give 2 1/2 hours to get to Sanibel roughly, maybe a bit less. The biggest reason is, it's easy to get to Fort Meyers, but then taking local highways to the causeway and bridge to Sanibel.

Just a warning, there's not much is quick eats along the beaches (go to the lighthouse/ boatmans beach the shelling is phenomanal there), so bring a cooler and stuff along with you. Ft Meyers is also the start of the coconut line so you can find them laying along the roads and such.

We did parasailing at WDW on Bay Lake. It was alot of fun, but not as daredevilish as you would think. It's a very slow rise and descent from the boat. But very pretty.

I just called about an hour ago and booked our Cozumel excursions...first the woman told me that I had to call back tomorrow since I was a day early...you can only call 60 days in advance...I informed her that I was going on the 10/11 cruise and I thought today was the target date for 60 days...she put me on hold and then came back and said I could book them. I asked her for a confirmation number and she told me she would send me something in the mail...does this sound right?? Mary Jo

I didn't get anything in the mail about the excursions yet. However, since I am booked through DVC things are usually behind with them. Only wanted to look at the Cozumel excursions. Since have Capt Marvin for Grand Cayman's and Scvanager hunt for Key West. Last year we had signed up for the Tulcum ruins in Cozumel, just not sure if I want to do that.

WE did the Atlantis sub in Cozumel in May and really liked it.

Well, I just tried to call to book our excursions and was first told to call back tomorrow and then told anytime after tomorrow, so who knows....

I may try Mary Jo's strategy and call back again today. Do they not have calendars at Disney?
