Eric ... With the new cell-phone working the USA, does that mean we can talk with you once you land on our soil? Congrats!

Sure, Cathy!!
You can even call me now - It's just a bit more expensive;)
I had a cellphone with me last time too. It's also a so-called Triband working in all three nets (900/1800/1900). It worked fine in Pennsylvania, troughout Florida, on St. Marteen and also when we cruised near the coast. It didn't work on St. Thomas. We took it with us because in 99 we called home from our room in the Dixie Landings Resort and had to pay about 40 Bucks for two calls of about 3-5 minutes each. The cell-phone is way cheaper!!
Right now my old triband is in the USA: My uncle is an engineer in the auto-industry and is in the Chicago-area to install some big machinery. The Friday before he departed his triband broke down and so I lent him mine. He had to leave on the weekend and there wasn't any time left to get a new one fom the shop.

Today I got a 3%-raise and was informed that our profit-sharing is twice the size of last year's :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Eric ... You are such a nice guy to let him borrow your cell phone.
Given the times we're in at least he can keep in touch from across the pond.

Nancy ... Thanks for the tea info ... had a senior moment and couldn't remember. I remembered Art and I getting lemonade but couldn't remember if they had my tea. Also, maybe that's why my paws swelled too. Didn't think of that.

Glad the Survivors got rid of that guy ... I was willing to e-mail the show and give them my vote for tribal council! I wonder how many of his fellow construction workers wanted to stick a board where the sun dosen't shine with him.

Mike ... I see my PSU girls will be playing your Tennessee Vol girls, guess we won't talk basketball at this time! The manifold on Art's truck broke in half out of no-where .... :( $260 yeow!

Everyone have a very Mickey Night and

GOD BLESS THE TROOPS AND INNOCENT BYSTANDERS!

Just dropped in to say hi. Haven't had a chance to read the last 10 or so pages of posts (jeez you guys talk a lot!!) but I didn't want you to think I died or anything.

Not much going on here in Seattle, glued to the news like everyone else I suppose. Had my most recent reconstructive surgery and now half my body is ready to sit by the pool! The other half should be done before August so by October, you may not find me anywhere else, the sun-worshiper I am. We'll see.

Travelling with an 18 yr old will likely be a bit like travling single except I don't have to worry about the dating crap. Happily married, I can dance my nights away with 20 different guys and still return happily alone to my cabin for a glass of champange and a great book!

Speaking of cell-phones, I have national long distance on mine so if anyone wants to chat...... ;)

Cathy sorry to hear about Art's manifold.Tell Art not to heat up his beany weenies on the manifold and it will last longer. ;) We are going to have to put a new set of tires on scarlet. There goes about 400 bucks. ºoº

Eric hope that your new phone works ok. Tell your uncle to watch out for those yankee's. They talk with an accent!!!:jester:

Oh PUH-LEEZE!! Let's not start that again!!! ;) :p

Glad to see people posting who don't normally post.

MARY!! You will be SO proud of me. I actually BOUGHT something for this cruise already! (I meant to tell you this after Bette mentioned the suitcase thingie from Penney's) I was gonna wait for the summer sales but I couldn't resist... Penney's had some great swimsuits on sale and I bought two! (well, actually I really bought like 8 or 9 but returned all except two) AND I BOUGHT THEM VIA THE INTERNET!!! Aren't you proud of me Mary??

Way to go Rosemary!!!:bounce: Hope that Richey is doing better. Tell Rich we said hello. Mike

Rosemary...watch out! Internet shopping is addictive;) I am proud of you!

All this talk of cell phones gave me an idea. Would anyone like to get a list of all the cell phone numbers of the folks who will be bringing the cell phones with them on the trip. This could be very handy in getting together before we cruise, and could be a life saver if anyone has a pre-cruise problem. I know mine was a big help when I forgot DH's birth certificate last year. Of course it would have to be kept private (not posted on the boards) but we could e-mail someone with our cell numbers. Since may of us don't know what each other look like it could be very helpful. Last year at the Radisson I kept wondering if the people I was sitting near at the pool where fellow DIS'ers!:p

Tammeb, congrats on your next step!I just know you are going to have a wonderful time on the cruise! Also nice to see you posting!

I also have been gluded to the TV. I even get up during the night an put on CNN for a few min. I was so shocked to see New Yorkers protesting the war. NEW YORKERS!!????of ALL people..they know first hand what terrorism can do!!!I am proud to say Charleston had a big rally to show support for our troops. It was well attended and very emotional.

Mike, my car is also in need of "new shoes". It is so hard to spend money for something as DULL as tires.I'd much rather be getting trip stuff!

Goof Morning Everybody......

TGIF and the SUN'S out ... bad new is snow flurries for Sunday. I really hope they only mean flurries ... I just found my lawn after 4 months!

Rosemary ... Do me a favor and slap those protesters up the side of the head. Maybe the newspapers should not print their pictures but re-print the carnage of 9-11 to remind everyone what it's all about! (OK ... off my soap box, again!) Hey, how's the putty cat? I'm also glad I'm not the only one that hates buying a bathing suit.

Mary ... Our tiny town (all of maybe 3 blocks long) put yellow bows on all of the telephone poles on the main street!

About the cellphones ... that's how we kept tabs on Mike and knew what time he got to the hotel! NOT A BAD IDEA ... as long as we don't put on the net.

I have a very nice lit flag on my porch ... it's like the x-mass net lights but it's in the shape and colors of the American Flag ...looks great at night!

Tammy .... Hey don't go crazy on us and make the rest of us look bad! (Just Kidding .... CONGRATULATIONS)

GOD BLESS THE TROOPS AND INNOCENT CIVILIANS!

Just a quick lurk at the thread :earseek:

Right now we're packing for our trip to Berlin. We will travel tomorrow in the morning and be gone for a week.

CU later

Thanks, Cathy :D

Folks,
we won't be on-line for the next week as we're on a well-earned ;) vacation in our nation's capital. We'll do some heavy sightseeing (2 zoos, the Reichstag, some museums, the Telekom-Tower, etc) and some severe shopping :p
I was extremely busy this week, had to throw in a lot of overtime, which made it impossible to update the list/deckplan. I hope I find time for it next weekend, but I will park the car in our office-garage, which is conveniently close to the airport, and it is possible that my teamleader will put a note under my windshield-wipers telling my to take some work home for Sunday :( when we pick up the car upon return. But with an unemployment rate over 10% in our country, I must consider myself lucky to have too much work ;)

See you on the boards in 8 days

Have a safe trip Eric and Anja. Be safe and have a happy vacation. Mike

My flag avatar that I had used since 09/11/2001 quit working the other day. I didn't think that it violated any of the rules, but you never know.

Hope that you girls are able to do your Lancaster meet. Kathy and I are looking forward to this cruise in a big way. Looking forward to meeting our new dis friends and seeing our old friends even more.

Shari if you are lurking, don't forget you owe me a big hug:bounce: Hey when you are old, fat and balding you take your hugs anywhere you can get them:teeth: Mike

Good Morning all. Another day closer to our cruise. Mike

Have a great trip, too!

We are a week closer. I've been reading lots of trip reports, lately. I wish it were our time.

Tina

I am so ready for our cruise!! I went shopping at a Disney Catalog Outlet in Pigeon Forge, TN last weekend. It really go me in the mood. I can't believe we have to wait until October!!

Hope everyone is doing well. The temperature dropped 30 degrees here since Friday. Spring time is on hold for a few more days!!

Tina...my mom is not really computer savoy....she can't figure out how to get in touch with you about the hunt in key west....don't tell her I said that :) Would you email her some details about it...thank you....... molcott@scottsboro.org

Hope

Katie turned 10 months old yesterday! This afternoon she got her first tooth! Stacey was feeling down about her daughter growing up. I thought to myself. Humph! You don't know the half of it...This makes my SECOND time around to watch a child grow up........
Kathy, I know exactly what you are saying about Stacey not knowing the half of it. But I also bemoaned the fact that my son was growing up....I remember whining about how "he's starting to walk!!". DH stopped me in my tracks and said, "of course, he is. Do you wanna carry him around for the rest of his life??"

Stacey should just continue enjoying and appreciating every moment that she can of Katie's life. Time does fly by so fast, but if she keeps feeling down about her daughter "growing up", she will always be looking back and never forward and the future has so many exciting things awaiting them....
