Didn't end up going to DN birthday party. Went back to bed and woke up with green stuff oozing out of my left eye. Decided that if it was pink eye that really a kid's first birthday party wasn't the place to be. Phoned my SIL and explained and sent the gift with my mother. She's not back yet so don't know how it went.

Slept for a bit this afternoon and did put drops in my eyes. Last time I got pink eye the pharmasist made the prescription up into two little bottles rather than one big one so am using the second bottle which hasn't expired. Jim has a dr appt tomorrow night and may go with him to check my eyes as a walk in.

Can't wait for the cruise but can wait til tomorrow morning.

All businesses are supposed to be functioning at 50% power only and all levels of government except for essential services here in Toronto will be closed. I'm not sure if our office will be open or not but have to go in and see and do some work if I can. Gas appears to still be a problem as the refineries haven't all opened up and some gas stations have no gas. This could pose a problem later in the week. I have a full tank now but use a tank of gas a week to get to work and back. Oh well we'll see what happens tomorrow.

Eric,

Have you heard that Arnold is now running for governor of California. I would have thought someone else would have mentioned it by now.

Nancy

Ave',

OK you have probably been asked this question a million times but here goes anyway - Why is Mary named Mary instead of Maria?

Nancy

I am home safe and sound! What a trip! On the way down, I stopped for gas and was an attempted target of a road side scam! After paying for my gas, the attendent told me my tire was low, and if I'd pull up he would put some air in it. When I did, he said (the words I hate to hear!!) "What is that noise your car is making?"Well, he told me to pop the hood, and made a VERY fast assesment. He said my a/c compresser was about to freeze up, and if it froze up while I was driving it would throw off the belt, and I would have no steering or brakes:eek: He would be happy to fix it for me for $800-$900!!!!I had a BAD feeling about this whole thing so I grabbed the cell phone and called DH! He said, GET AWAY FROM THERE! I drove a few more exits and found a Ford dealership where a very nice man, told me not only had this man lied to me, they had to fix "repairs" this same man had done on other cars. The Ford dealership guy made a temporary fix to my car and when I got to Panama City DH's friend came over and fixed the problem (with a $30.00 belt) so I could get home. The A/C unit is shot, but DH can do the repair for about $200!

I had a GREAT time in PCB with my sis! We ate oysters, and went out on the boat to see the dolphins! One came right up up the boat and stuck his/her head out to say hello to me!We also went out for dinner at the famous "Captain Anderson's" seafood rest. Of course Ave and I taked non stop about the cruise!

I am so glad no one was too badly effected by the "Black Out"! 2 of my brothers work in power plants (co-generation plants) in NY (one on Long Island and one near Watertown N.Y.) needless to say they were both at work when I called to check on them!

My bed is calling me. The air mattress at Ave's house was OK but there is nothing like sleeping in your own bed!

Nancy...My mom prefered the name Mary rather then Maria.

Fiona..hope your eye is better soon! Now we need a new pic of your DH without the beard!

Well, THAT's news to me!! LOL! Me thinks you mean Don - OhioScootersDad. What was that you were saying about a test?? You could do a little studying too! LOL!!!

Mary! So glad you had a wonderful weekend with your twin and so glad you arrived home safe and sound. Always trust your instincts is my motto. Glad you did too.

Very busy weekend. Rich returns to work tomorrow so all three of us will be back on our old schedules. He says he could use another four weeks' vacation.

I still have notes I made during my catchup read and I will start a bit now but I can't stay on long.

First - Belated Happy Wedding 10th Anniversary to Eric and Anja. We wish you many more happy years together.

Second - Extra web space. Would it be possible to use one web site as is already for the individual pictures and then use one of the offered websites to make a page for the group shots from the meets? Of course, I don't know how much work is involved in doing same. I would appreciate this being a consideration if there is feasibility in doing this.

Dan! OLD FOLKS!!!???!!!! I'm gonna get ya for that remark!

Amy - Sorry I signed off when you posted the other night.

Just dropping in to let you know we are still here. Has been a busy week and the next week will be even busier. We have been getting DS's things together to go back to college. Erik is going back on Tues to Kutztown as he has an apartment this year. He is taking as much as he can and then Norm and I will drive up Friday afternoon to deliver everything else. We want to do it Friday as the Freshmen come in on Sat and don't want stuck in that mess. Brian leaves on Wednesday to go back to Cal U of Pa, as he starts hockey camp on Thursday. Since he can't get into the dorms yet, he is only taking his hockey gear and a suitcase of clothes. He is going to sleep at the Frat house. Now the problem is getting his stuff up to him. Freshman move in on Sunday, so we again would like to avoid that mess. Hockey camp runs from 10-7 each day. So we might end up delivering his things on Saturday night if he can get into the dorms. If he can't get into the dorm until Sunday, we will have to take everything up on Sunday evening since Brian wo't be around until after 7pm. However, would like to avoid a 3 1/2 hour drive home on Sunday night if at all possible. They are ready to get back to college and I am ready for them to leave. I love my children, but it is time for them to go back. Anyone who has college children know what I am talking about.

September is a busy month for me, so hope it goes fast and then we will be really close to the cruise.

Welcome to Lisa and family. Welcome back to Rosemary and Rich and Mary. Glad everyone has their electricity back. Fionna hope your eye get better. I to would like to see a picture of Jim without his beard.

Eric and Jeff stay cool in Germany. Since the thunderstorms came through her last night, today was cooler and less humid. I do like how you keep it warmer in your offices. Since I am always cold and wear sweaters year round.

I was finally able to open up microsoft word and printed off the logo. Now to buy the T-shirts and actually do it.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Nancy

Good morning all, hope everyone had a good weekend.

We are counting down, almost seven weeks to go, still a lot to do at the scooters house.

I still need to get the rest of my tux, I only have a Disney vest.

Josh starts school on Wed., he can't wait, not a lot of kids in our area.

We are going to have a cart in Key West, guess we'll see who the best drivers are.

See everyone soon, our apologies from N.E.Ohio for the blackout.

Rosemary,
I intened to remove the individual picture of everybody who's on a group pic. But the group pics will be put on the site in a big format.
BTW, during The Hunt, we will drag Rich into a tatoo-shop. We could make a poll for the motive on the thread. :p

Nancy,
I assume that Arnie will make it. Only problem: The last time WE let an Austrian run OUR country it resulted in WWII :jester:

Don ... You may want to get a little something to go with the Disney Vest for Formal Night ... or be prepared for a big draft!

The house is so quiet....DH is at work....DD's are at school. I love my Mondays!!

Hope everyone is having a good day! :)

Hope

Where were you when the lights went out??

I had taken my mom to the physical therapist which is in the basement of her drs office. Since my mom is in a wheelchair there was a bit of a panic. Luckily with the help of 2 of the therapists we were able to get her up the flight of stairs with minimal problems. We then took her back to her assisted living facility where thankfully they had emergency generators going.

When I finally got home(it was real fun going through traffic intersections) my thinking DH had already run out to get batteries for our portable TV and we were able to watch a 5" black and white TV. We got three channels but was grateful for that.

We finally got our power back at 1:00 PM the next day. My sister didnt get it back till 6:30 PM the next day....and she only lives 15 minutes away.

Boy do we take things for granted.

Hope everybody else is fine....

Arlene

I really think Arnold will be elected. He IS very intelligent and not "just an action-film star" as some might think. The big problem is that the situation in California is not so much the fault of the Governor as of a system that has not been efficient for some time now. We all know that as with the President of the U.S., it's the rest of the government (senators, legislators, advisors, etc.) that are the foundation of most decisions. I hate to see poor (okay - RICH) Arnold get in there and then be knocked for not "fixing things" when it's going to be one heck of a job for ANYONE. But in any case, it's quite an experience for him! Wow! The Terminator for Governor! :jester:

Arlene ... Boy does your mom have something to talk about with the fellow residents! Glad you guys made out OK. I'm guessing you guys will get a supply of batteries ... once the sheleves get replenished!

Where we live, the power goes out a lot. I remember the times it was out for 14 hours and we had a slight problem with the water bed ... OMG was it cold. Ended up giving it up for the couch. Before you laugh ... there is just no way two bodies could maintian the heat no matter what we did!

Bette ... Do me a favor and measure Bernie's head. I need to know if I should adjust the size of his laynard. :smooth:

Arlene, glad you posted as we were wondering how you and Andy survived the blackout. We got stuck with no gas up north and couldn't get to DS grad ceremony but did finally get home around 6pm on Friday. What an experience.

We are all supposed to be using 50% power this week at work. Means that the registry system is only open til noon and the building wants the offices closed early if possible. Had a client scheduled at 6pm and called her to see if she could come in earlier. Nope, no way. She couldn't possibly get here any earlier or come another day except at 6pm (restrictions are in place all week). The only other offer was 7:15am one morning. Very accomodating. Oh well the lights will be off at 6pm but I guess there will be light coming in the window.

LOL Goofy Nut....!! Bernies' head is about 3" at its widest, remember,he is still a fledgling.....

Hi Folks,
just returned from work, gym and picking Anja up from the lateshift. Seems as I won't find time for an update on Wednesday as I one of our managers from Denver arrived today and I'll have to give hime a tour of the city Wednesday evening and have dinner with him.
I'll have to do some overtime on Saturday, but at least I should be able to come home in time for the chat. Just 24 workdays left (Plus at least two Saturdays :( ) til our vacation starts. Yesterday two friends of us offered to drive us to the airport and pick us up again when we return :bounce: Of cours we gladly accepted ;)
I already decided, that if I have to do so much overtime for longer, I'll reward myself with a Boxster as a replacement for our car in a year or two:teeth: This way I know at least what I work for.

Bette ... Don't forget to let Disney know of his special dietary needs. YOu kow the daily Jumbo Shrimp to keep him nice and pink!

:jester: :Pinkbounc Is anyone interested in a listing of the Hidden Mickey's on board the Magic? If you are, PM or e-mail me so I know how many booklets I will need. It's a fun thing to do for the kids and kids-at-heart!.

And just think....He will find one of his own (PINKY) quicker than..............................................say,Eric

LOL
