Well back to the store I go!
I forgot to make presents for my kids' bus drivers.
OY VEY

So, now I have to go buy 3 more mugs ( 4 if you count the family I carpool with) and make more coffee mix and more chocolate spoons and more biscotti.

Well, I know what *I'll* be doing today. See you all later.

I can totally relate. My DD told me last night that she needed to take something to a party at school today. On the way to the store to pick up something this morning, we remembered she was supposed to take a gift for one of her friends. A group of girls had exchanged names. We bought her gift at the grocery store and thankfully I had a gift bag in the car. I just feel totally disorganized and behind this year.

How nice of you to remember your bus drivers! I drive a bus and few do but it's
not a big deal. I'm just happy when the kids are at the bus stop on time and well
behaved! 2 1/2 more days til vacation! YAY!!!!

I love to give the bus driver Gift Certificates to Dunkin Doughnuts!!! Can always use a Hot Chocolate and a breakfast sandwich I figure  And Easy to get!!!

:) well I found more mugs that I really liked so I hope they do too! :)

BTW, I re-read my post and I dont mean to sound like I dont appreciate the bus drivers :) After all I entrust them with my kids! I just somehow forgot to add their names to the list when I was making the goodies.

:)

So I went to the store where I ran into one of the moms from Kaylee's class and she said " so what are you doing for the kids in the class?" I was like "eh?" apparently the "thing to do" is to send a little gift home with each of your childs classmates  OMGOSh youve GOT to be kidding me???
Ive never done that before.

BUT..... I would hate to be the only one who didnt do it so.....

I start adding up the kids and figure out Ive got 70 kids yes 70!! between the 3 kids classes.

So Im making ( read the kids are making) little gift bags with chocolates, a pencil, and a candy cane.

Gotta love Christmas Guilt!

now repeat after me, " I have the Christmas spirit... I have the Christmas Spirit..." LOL

:)

Merry Christmas everyone!

You're crazy!! Have fun!!!! :goodvibes:

I would go crazy trying to get gifts for all my kids teachers, bus drivers, AND the kids in the class (I have a 5th grader who switches classes, has some aides (High Schoolers, etc..), a 2nd grader who needs reading help so he goes to a pull-out class for that, the preschooler who goes to 2 different schools with several aides/teachers (speech, OT, etc..)

I agree with shortbun it is nice of you to remember your driver.
I drive a school bus also.. and yes it is nice when the kids remember, but it's not expected. I give out my candy canes and pencils tomorrow. 2 days left YES :Pinkbounc then it's no school and off to AKL
Can't wait

well the teachers and aides about kill me too. Karissa has 4 Kaylee has 2 and Cam only has 1.

I went all out last year and made gift baskets for each but it relaly adds up!

Oh well. I want to show them how much I appreciate them. :)

I have 2 teachers, a class assistant, and DD's aide to get GC's for. DS sees a speech therapist during school twice a week and DD has speech, PT, and OT once a week.

I apperciate everything the therapists do for each of my kids, but I have to draw a line some where. I figured since the teachers, assistant, and aide are with DS and/or DD everyday for the whole school day I would just buy for them.

But one thing that I saw on the news last night was them talking about who you should "tip" at Christmas. *****PLEASE, I do not want to start a tipping war on here like what was on the Budget Board awhile back***** They mentioned the mailperson and the trashman. ???? Am I missing something??? I don't do either, but I can just imagaine if everyone just gave our mailperson{which we never have the someone all the time. We have about 4 different ones who deliver} a $1 for every house, apartment, business they deliver to that would be a good lump sum. I'm guessing $300-$400 or more, that with their regular pay. Here, they make pretty good money. And for the trashman, our trash is picked up through the city and they make around $19-$20 an hour picking up trash. Now I could see if maybe it was a private trash hauler.

We collect $5 from each family and give her the money in a card and we have plenty of families to make it worthwhile.

I gift the postman, usually a plate of cookies :) he goes above and beyond for me with the business here, poor guy comes to the door 3 or 4 times a week. I also give him bottles of water in the summer when its 100+ outside.

yep, Harold and I are good buddies ;)
