I made my ADRs this morning and I booked CRT for one dinner. I've eaten in Cinderella's castle before, but it was a long time ago...pre marriage and kids.
I'm trying to decide if I think it's worth it or not for my 2 boys (age 5 &4 at that time). This trip is w/my inlaws and they have never been to Disney before, I thought my mil would enjoy it b/c to her Cinderella's castle is DW. But now I'm wondering if the boys and men in our group will enjoy it....Anybody been there w/boys?

I am wondering this too. We have ADRs already, but what can DS look forward to? I heard they give boys swords...anyone else heard this?

I booked this 2 years ago and was so excited to finally get it. My DS's were 7 & 5 at the time. They enjoyed it. I think mostly they knew how excited I was and didn't want to say they didn't like it. I took a picture of them with all the princess' and even my DH wanted his picture with them. We had a very memorable breakfast. I am sure your DS's will enjoy it as well.

It's too bad that they haven't given the boys their own character meal. I think the boys deserve that since they have to "put" up with all the princesses.

Okay, I've booked it! I originally booked it for dinner, but just changed it to lunch. The only dinner available was too close to the start of Spectromagic and I was afraid we wouldn't get a good spot. I'm excited! Thank for the feedback!

My boys were 5 and 3 when we went and they loved it. The princesses fawned all over the 'little princes' and my little one came out with lipstick kisses all over his face! It's definitely magical enough to win over anyone. Have fun!

The swords they gave out look really impressive. My girly-girly smiled at the wand they tried to hand her and asked if she could have one of he swords instead. They let her pick one -- it was hard to fit it in our suitcase! BTW she was not the only girl there to ask for and receive a sword!

My boys love attention from the princesses - we've done both CRT and the Princess meal at Akershus several times. Wish I could figure out how to post a pic, I have the cutest one of oldest DS with Cinderella - his expression is priceless!

We did the DDP for the first time last Sept. and ate dinner at the castle (first time ever) with my boys (12, 15). While they didn't want their picture taken with Cinderella, they did enjoy the soft pretzel bread before dinner and the Cinderella slipper dessert (which is now off the menu :sad1: ). My hubby doesn't care where we eat, as long as he gets a good meal.

I think if it's been that long for you, you should eat at the Castle. Not to mention how happy your MIL would be. Even if it's not their favorite place, they need to understand that Mom gets to do what she wants sometimes too. On one vacation, for example, I sat at a baseball game that I didn't really care about, and in return, they had to visit the Precious Moments Chapel :) with me. It's all about give and take, and teaching children that life is not all about them. It's called a "Family vacation" because everyone in the family gets to do something they enjoy.

My DS6 got "dragged along" to CRT for breakfast to please his little sister (& mommy too!) & ended up enjoying the character interaction as well. I wanted to go before he got much older & thought it was too girly for him to do.

He did not want to go up & see Cinderella to have his photo taken when we entered, so little sis got her all to herself. But, once we were seated & the Fairy Godmother showed up at our table, he changed his tune. He really liked her & after that, he had no problem talking with Belle & Snow White. He wasn't as thrilled with Sleeping Beauty.

Later in the week, he also had no problem visiting the princesses in Toon Town. And when Dopey showed up with Snow White there, he was pretty excited about that.

I think you little guys will enjoy it. :thumbsup2

Sure!!! My DGS (almost 4 at the time) LOVED getting kissed on the cheek by Cindy  (that is, until his cousins started making fun of his lipstick stain on his cheek) :sad2:

I am the only female in a family of 5. All of us really enjoyed our lunch at CRT last September. At the time of that meal my boys were 9 yr, almost 6 yr and 4 yr. A great time was had by all!!

We have been to CRT on all but one of our trips. Our DS, now 8, has always been with it and enjoyed it. In fact, he will be with us at our upcoming trip. All the Princesses do a great job, but the Fairy God Mother and him had a great conversation last trip.

They should enjoy it.

Our boys like eating in the castle. They tolerate the princesses. We'd like to avoid it this year given the price increase (won't pay 2 TS credits for it, but will do it OOP). But, the boys want to eat in the castle and see their favorite waiter, David, so back we go!

See, this is why I love the dis  You ask a question and you get great responses! I think my mil will love it and the boys will be okay with it. Truth be told, I want to go too....

Yes yes and yes!

What boys big or small don't like castles with turrets, flags and real knights armour!

If your doing dinner your taking away dinning with the princesses so it cuts out most of the girlie stuff anyway.

I think you'll all love it!

It's nice to sit in the airconditioning, knowing your eating in the castle and having a nice meal!

We've done breakfast the last two years and this year will be our first dinner. My only complaint with crt is I always feel rushed. This year i'm determined to take my time and enjoy the experience!

A question for those that have been or are in the "know"... I've heard that Cinderella only makes the rounds inside the Castle during the CRT breakfast and lunch times, not the dinner time. That she's only outside during dinner and it's the Fairy Godmother who makes the rounds during dinner? This seems odd to me so I'm wondering if this is really true? Our DS3 is totally infatuated with Cinderella, so we're trying to figure out the best time to go. Thanks in advance!

We went in Dec and DS8 really enjoyed it! It took him a little while to warm up to the princesses, but he loved the castle! And thought the suit of armour was cool. And when we go back this year he's excited to go again because he loved the food! (We did breakfast)

As for Cinderella, when we were there, she was downstairs in the lobby for pics and interaction, not upstairs at all. As with everything at Disney that could change....

Have fun!

I plan to take my 2 boys ages 1 and 3... ok so the 1 year old wont care, he loves anyone who will kiss on him and princesses do that great. My 3 year old though I think will enjoy the princesses because we will balance them with Buzz Lightyear and he has to take back princess autographs for all his girlfriends

as I understand cinderella is outside before the meal and does the formal phot with the family before dinner then inside is the godmother and possibly other princesses and it is possible that boys get swords and girls wands but I have no confimation on that but a photo set is included with the meal

we will see when we go though

My DS, 8, had a good time...we went for my DD's 13th birthday in September. I thought she was too old or too "cool" for it, but when we got to WDW she said, "You can eat in the castle???" so I called early the next day and got an ADR for the second to last day of our trip.

My son really liked when they us "The Royal" family and how everyone called him Prince and my DH King and he was very into it, plus eating by the window overlooking the park. It was very special. That day we saw Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White & Wendy. Wendy was very, very great! She was soooo cute with my son, it was a great memory.

:wizard:

Totally worth it!!!!

We went this past October DS's were 9 and 7.... Eating in the castle is terrific and both boys loved it... So did I and hubby... We booked it for Breakfast and when I got my ressie I felt as though I hit the lottery.. (No one else can understand unless you read these boards or try to get your own ressie!) But we had a blast! We are planning on a September 2007 trip and I will book CRT again.. (I mean I will try again) :thumbsup2
