I was talking to a coworker who has made only one trip 1 1/2 years ago to WDW, (but still considers herself an expert). Anyway I mentioned that myself, my son, and my D-I-L were doing three character meals during our Sept trip--CM (dinner), CP (dinner), and CRT (breakfast). She had a fit and said she couldn't believe we were doing CRT. She asked if I knew how hard it was to get (Duh! I got it for my 8 y/o GD this past January and again for Sept for my D-I-L). She then went off on me how she thought it was extremely selfish for me book a table for three adults, causing some little girl to be unable to attend.

To understand a little on the background: My son treats his wife like a Princess and consequently everyone calls her a Princess. She even had a bumper sticker made for her SUV that says 'Jackson Princess' that matches her license plate and the air freshner hanging from her mirror. While we were there this past January my elder son (her B-I-L) bought my D-I-L a Princess antenna topper and asked me if when I took her and my younger son to WDW in Sept if I was going to book CRT, so my D-I-L could eat with the 'other Princesses'. So you see, her being a Princess is sortof a family joke, both in our family and with her family.

Anyway do you think it would be wrong to use this ADR? My D-I-L really wants to dine with the Princesses and I made three phone calls to get the ADR for her. I finally got it for our last day. We'll be dining at the castle before we leave for the airport to come home. It seemed like a perfect ending to our trip. What's your opinion: Is it wrong for adults to attend CRT without kids?

For that matter, I'll be taking my 73 y/o mother for her first ever trip to WDW in Dec and had planned to try to get CRT for her also. I know she'd love it. Again though, knowing how coveted those ADRs are, would it be inappropriate to try for it for two adults?

Of course its not wrong. CRT is now an all day character meal, so its not nearly so hard to get ressies anymore.

I will say that as adults, you may prefer lunch or dinner, foodwise, but other than that, there is nothing wrong with your ADR.

We have eaten there for breakfast 3 times and lunch once, and there have always been a mix of couples, families and families with boys not girsl. It appeals to everyone because of the setting, not just the characters! I cant think of anywhere else that offers such a stunning location to eat in the parks!

Go, enjoy yourselves and dont feel guilty for a second!

Not at all. Coworker has no right to tell you you are selfish for getting the ADR for it. You had to call 3 times to get it. And who's to say that if you canceled your reservation a little girl would get it anyway? Seems to be a bit of a control freak your friend.

Go and enjoy every minute of it with your Princess D-I-L. I too am a princess in my house along with my DD, and even if DD was an adult we would STILL be going!

Enjoy! And post pics when you come back!

I totally agree.

Sounds like your coworker is a

.

Your money and time is just as important as that of a family with children. If you want to eat in the castle with the princesses - eat in the castle with the princesses. It's ridiculous to say you shouldn't.

Some people!!!!

Would just like to point out that my boyf's little cousin is going to be having CRT and PSB (amongst other things) in November and she isn't at all excited anyway.

I'm thinking of booking CRT for me and my boyf - so no, I do not think it's selfish! What a silly suggestion for your co-worker to make.

Go & have a great time. I was 36 before I ever went to WDW & I love doing the character meals. I've never tried for CRT but one of these days I will. Some people think Disney is just for kids but it's really for the Kid in all of us. I never use to get on the Autograph/Photo lines either but now I do & one of these days I may actually start getting Autographs. Ignore your mean coworker.

Just tell her what my son told me about Disney when I asked if he thinks he'll be "too old" for WDW when he's a teen...
He said "Oh Mom, you know everyone's a kid when they're at Disney"
Besides from the sounds of it, your DIL didn't have a chance to go when she WAS a little girl, so now is her chance to step back in time and be in the magic.
My inner little girl (along with my DD 7 and DS 11) will be having lunch at CRT in a few days and I'm every bit as excited as they will be when they find out! Go and enjoy!

Just to clarify, CRT is a princess character meal at breakfast and lunch, but not at dinner.

To the OP, I say go for it, and have a great time. I have a daughter who I've been taking to WDW since she was 18 months old (she's now 17). While she was still young enough to want to dine with the princesses, we could never afford it. By the time our income increased enough to allow us to enjoy more sit-down meals, she no longer was interested.

Here's my point - my daughter *never* had breakfast with the princesses, and she was, and is *just fine*. It drives me crazy to hear people talk like their little girls will wither and die if they don't get those CRT ressies. Sometimes you get what you want in this life, and sometimes you don't. Trying for CRT and not being able to get it may be frustrating, but it's not the end of the world. Kids can handle disappointments like this if their parents don't teach them that they're entitled to every thing they want.

Do i think what your co worker said is wrong.. yes... If you want it do it... no one should stop you.... that being said we (DBF & I) wanted to eat at the castle but choose Dinner as not to take away from the little girls who want breakfast with the princesses... I am not a huge princess fan and did not want to do it just to say I did when there are others who would enjoy it more... but let me tall you if someone told me I should not stand on main street to watch the parade so the little kids could or not eat at chef mickeys so little kids could I would tell them right where to take there PS

We're ALL kids at heart at Disney - that was Walt's dream!! Why shouldn't we fulfill those childhood dreams of ours!

Of course it's okay, we do character meals as only adults and love them - and always see others there too! Tell your coworker to mind her own business ;)

I'm 24 and I'm going to CRT this time. First time I've ever been, never went as a little girl. Oh, and I'll be traveling with 3 other adults, so I guess we took up another table. Oh well :)

I am one of those people who think that parties of adults at WDW have just as many rights and priveledges as do parties with children. WDW is for everyone....maybe even more so for those who have worked to get there and take their adult family members!

Yep...your co-worker def got up on the wrong side of the broomstick that morning!

Exactly! (to everything that other people have said!)

Just to add to my previous post:
I didn't go to WDW (or any Disney property, for that matter) until I was a teenager, and I've never had a character meal (never had the chance), so what about the little girl/boy in all of us who wants that chance?

WDW is for EVERYONE! No matter how old or young (that's why it's so wonderful).
