CRT with boys?

My family is visiting Disney World in late May, early June 2017. My boys will be 6 (almost 7) and 9. They have been to Disney twice before. My mom and I have been many more times than that. We have never dined at CRT and would like to this year. Is it worth bringing the whole family? Or should my mom and I go and leave the boys with my husband? While cost is always a consideration, this is doable for us either way. Just wondering if my boys will hate every minute of it or if there is some way to get them to play along.

Ask them how they feel. my 8yo son won't touch it with a 10 foot pole, not into the princesses. for boys who ARE into it they get a sword and they have fun but honestly I'd just ask them what they think.

Thanks. If they get a sword, they are definitely in. They spent an entire day asking me to buy swords for them last time. I refused. That evening we went on the Pirate and Pals Fireworks Voyage and they "won" swords. You never saw two happier boys - mostly because they thwarted mom!

My sons loved it when they were young! What boy worth his salt doesn't want to eat in a castle?!?

um, my kiddo has negative interest in the princesses. If he wasn't surrounded by face characters (which he has a harder time with than the fuzzy ones) who are all women he can't really relate to he would eat in the castle. but with princesses? no way!

Sorry, forgot the :) . My Sons couldn't have cared less about the princesses, but they did love castles. Still do. As always, your experiences may vary. pixiedust:

I'm hoping some day but not this trip. He was unimpressed by BoG as well but I think that was due to not caring for the turkey meatloaf as much as the one I make ;)

I think dining in the castle is a unique experience. You can do quick photos with the princesses. I would do it now while they are still Disney "Kids" and the cost is much less. Once they turn 11, prices increase drastically.

Seriously!

And maybe my boy is weird, but he has always been highly motivated by pretty young women. Even as a 2 year old he had a "type" that he paid far more attention to, and it has persisted. He was stand-off-ish with Jasmine (so much bare belly showing!) but then his fellow redhead Ariel made him happy. Snow was then smiled with just fine.

The only issue he had was with the size of the food! He was 9 at the time so it was still kid's menu, and the cheese pizza was tiny. We had to feed him immediately afterward.

It's at 10 that it changes. Kid prices from 3 through 9, and then at 10 it's adult prices.

Nope, no way. My son would have HATED it. While I'm sure he would have been polite and endured it, what a waste of money it would have been. You can't get him near a princess. But just about any other character and he is in.

However, since you and your mom want to go then I think you are fine if you bring him. But if you will be disappointed if he doesn't want pics with princesses, etc, then I would just go with your mom.

Even worse! My daughter is 12 and still mostly eats from the kids menu, but we pay adult deluxe dining plan prices. She takes about 4 bites. Maybe for tickets they should charge at 10, but food should be 13.
