I remember a couple or years ago you received a picture package and boys received a sword pirate:

Do they still give the sword?

this past June. Boys received a sword and the girls a wand. All were given a wishing star. We have quite a collection and all are different. The picture package is also still provided.

still the same in october. altho we wernt sure about the wishing star, they gave it did the little routine with it, but never said we could take it...we did anyways!

We went on December 2 - the boys got a sword and the girls a wand but I didn't see anyone receive wishing stars.

Don't expect high-quality swords/wands though - one boy broke his just after we left the castle. My ds8's got broke right after we got home. My cousin's dd4 sat on her wand and it broke as well.

I was wondering if everyone else had the same problem with their sword. DS7 did a quick wave of the sword and the blade broke right off the handle. That is the one thing that amazes me about Disney. Everything there emphasizes quality around those parks. That is until you come to the souveniers or the toys. I don't know if our children have bought anything that has made it more than a couple of weeks. It's worse than walmart junk. Sorry for the short vent. Oops.

im thinking chances are they're reused too. ds's sword had the paint on it chipping off, didnt notice that till waaaay after when he actually let me hold it for 30 seconds. so it' quite possible that were getting ones that have already been used and beat up by prior kids.

I hear you my DS also broke his when we went the first time...

Even though you weren't sure about the Wishing Star and took it anyway :confused3 The Star and Sword and Wand are gifts to the children. They aren't reused, as you stated.

DS received one back in September. It broke within minutes of leaving the castle and DS isn't rough with anything.

It was a nice gesture, but the quality is lacking.

I'd have to chime in here. During our June visit to WDW, DS received the sword (which was brand new) and DD received the wand (also new). Both items lasted for several months until one day in mid-December DS was playing with DD and the sword's blade came clean off the handle. Needless to say DS was devastated and cried for a good long while. Then our best friends went to WDW during Christmas and ate at CRT. They explained what had happened to the CM who was kind enough to give our friends a sword for DS. It was presented to him on Christmas Eve by our friends. He was on cloud nine! :cloud9: It made his day!

DD got the wand last year and we're going again in two months...can I request a sword for my DD?
