CRT Reservation for 6...now need 5

Hi All...I have a question regarding CRT. I had a reservation for 6 already made. However, now only 5 of us are going to Disneyworld. I called Dining to try to change the number of adults but I was told there are no tables left for 5. Will they refund me for the 6th that will not show up if we go ahead and go to our reservation ? Thanks !

Well that's just wrong. You know it's probably the same actual table that you would have been sat at, party of 5 or party of 6. Change the make-up of the party to 5 adults & 1 infant (for whom there is no charge) and when you check in, you left the baby napping in the room with grandparents.....

You should still be able to sit at the 6 top then but call back and make sure they refund your money for 6th person.

I have never been in this situation so I don't know from personal experience. But I do not think they will refund the money for the 6th person. That is the whole purpose of requiring payment in advance.
We are in a similar place concerning ADR's at the HDDR. If someone does not come at the last minute I expect to pay the full price of the meal.

You need to cancel for 6, and rebook for 5. If you have paid for 6 and only 5 people show up, you will still be charged for 6. You are booking and paying for seats, not for how many people actually eat. Does that make sense? Will the 6th person refund your payment since they dropped out?

As long as you call within the allowed cancellation period, there should be no questions or problems. I had to do this with CRT on our last trip only we pared the number down from 6 to 4. They just refunded me the charge for the two who were cancelled.

Now if they don't have any tables for 5, that's not really your problem. It's really up to them as to how they want to seat you and my guess is that it would be at a table for 6 anyway.

However, don't just show up there on the day of and expect a refund. You won't get it then.

When I get there I would just say we are 5 if they want you to pay for six tell them you called and made it 5.

Thanks all...I will see if I can talk to another CM. Maybe it was a CM that don't know I can get refund if I cancel the 6th now.
