What do you think they are doing?
A complete overhaul or just new carpet?
The menus are still the same online, do you think that will change?
Will it be on time for the re-opening?

I have reservations for opening weekend so I'm hoping for the best!:woohoo:

3 months is a long time to do new carpet I'm pretty sure this is a big refurb. While its not confirmed I think it's safe to say some menu changes may be made not a completely new menu but some new items maybe.

I've never been before so I am quite sure we'll enjoy it no matter what they do. I'm just hoping they re open on schedule.

OP - soooo glad you posted this. I have been asking myself the exact same thing.

We have done CRT breakfast before and my kids loved it! We are going to DW again in March and I have once again made reservations. We were also lucky enough to grab reservations at BOG (which will be a first for us). And, because of budget reasons, I think we are only going to do one of these - either CRT or BOG.

I really want to try BOG...like really. But, I'm wondering if I should keep my CRT reservation too because my kids loved it so and I'm sooo curious about the refurb. In my mind I'm thinking it will be something like over the top or maybe they will be adding Anna and Elsa as princesses who are there (I know wishful thinking, right?).

Anywho, I guess I'm just waiting for my fellow Dis'ers to report in what the refrub'd CRT is like before I make a final decision. Or, maybe I can just save a few more pennies and do both CRT and BOG.

Decisions Decisions...seriously though...can't wait to hear all about the "new" CRT. Tick Tock Tick Tock

Happy Friday ya'll!! :goodvibes

Happy Friday to you too :)

I'm hoping it becomes "over-the-top" given popularity and its 2 credit price.

I'm counting the days before I can try for a BoG lunch fastpass....I hope I can get in.

This is just a rumor on my end, but a friend told me that the refurb is to put in more fire exits which will necessitate a complete overhaul of the restaurant. Now remember I said it's just a rumor because I'm not sure why the fire marshals would all of a sudden have a problem with it since the place has had the same number of fire exits since 1997. So if that's true, does that mean an inspector didn't do their job all those years ago or have new requirements come through that can't be grandfathered? I would love to know if this is right, so if anyone else has any idea post away.

I have not heard anything about this. The restaurant hasn't had a large refurb in a long time so I think this is just a normal kitchen upgrade, new carpet, new paint type deal.

Was just there last Dec, asked the CM and they said everything will be "redone". Dont exactly know what that means, but they REALLY need to do a refurb. Some of the "special touches" like the make-a-wish segment was....tacky. The strobe lights really did not work with the stone work and the reflections were way off.

Have they opened reservations for May yet? I keep trying on-line and get none available.

CMs don't know a heck of a lot more than we do most of the time.

We asked our server last fall. She claimed that they had to re-do/update the kitchen area to bring it up to code :confused3
That would make sense codes change a lot like I said earlier most likely just new carpet paint and kitchen upgrades.

I'm still wondering if the menu will change at all. I keep seeing these pictures online of a "Chocolate Buckle" they used to have for dessert. I wish it would return to the menu!

From what I hear, the rehab includes: *
1) Better menu items, such as whole-hog dinners for the hearty eaters who want more value for the price.
2) A barrel of "specialty" apples for dunking, which is ideal for some of your "favorite" relatives.
3) New tables that automatically expand by two seats, to accomdate those who guests claim have decided to join "at last minute".

* Of course, I heard this from a bus driver.

:cool1:

OOOOOOOOOO....thats so exciting. "Re-imagining" packages sounds like more $ though...

We also wanted to try BOG in November but the boys didn't want to give up Casey's Hotdogs and some other favorites. So we went there at 2pm and just ate cupcakes. We just wanted to see the inside but not eat a meal. So you can always just go to BOG for a snack since you already have the reservations!
