Hi -- I will try to keep this short. We are taking DD (only child will be just shy of 5) in late Jan. 08. This will be a Thursday to Sunday trip.

We have booked so far dinner at CRT for Thursday night (our first night), the Princess Storybook Dining in Restaurant Akershus for Saturday at lunch and then possibly (if they have it available) the Pirates and Princesses party on Saturday night.

Questions:

1) Is this too much for an almost 5 year old girl? We are planning to pretty much only stay in the MK with exception of the lunch in Norway. I have planned for mid-day naps/breaks and have no schedule to follow other than what we have already booked. All day Friday is deemed "DD gets to do whatever she wants day"

2) If you chose to give up one which would it be? Pirates and Princesses, CRT dinner or Norway lunch?

TIA

PS Please give me any other tips, tricks and/or experiences you have. DH and I have been many times as both children and adults but this is DD first trip.

As long as you are pacing your day around DD, I'm sure you will be fine. I have always enjoyed CRT, however we are not going in December since my great nephew isn't really into Princesses. He is 5 and it is his first trip. Although each day is planned to a degree, we will be taking things at his pace instead of ours. We are planning on a very short day at Epcot during the morning before MVMCP so that he can enjoy the party. That will be our only trip to Epcot, just long enough to enjoy Soarin and Turtle Talk. We will be spending a day at MGM primarily to see the Power Rangers and a day at AK to ride the safari.

I'm sure that you will have a great trip.

If you think you have to give up one-- my answer depends on your preferences. If you want to see princesses- definitely keep the Norway lunch. CRT dinner just has Cinderella in the lobby and Fairy Godmother I think- the princesses do not rotate for lunch here like they do for breakfast and lunch. I think you would probably be fine keeping both. Jan is supposed to be low crowds and if you are only planning to do MK, you should have plenty of time. I'd definitely do the P&P party too- she will probalby love that! We took dd when she was 5 and it was so magical- a terrific age for WDW. If it were me, I think I'd do all 3- of course, we are at the parks when they open and there until they close and we LOVE character meals. :goodvibes
Good luck deciding!!!
