Looking at paying for CRT out of pocket instead of using two dining credits. Looked up price on All-ears and here. Both have the adult price as $31.99 for breakfast. Looked at Disney rev site and it gave $44.99 as the adult price.

First question...have all the buffets gone up? If so is there a site that has the updated info.

Second question...is it going to be better for us to pay for CRT out of pocket or two of our other table service dinners?

Thanks in advance for all your help! :goodvibes

No way can it be $31.99. I paid $165 for 3 adults and a child in January 2010, over a year ago. If you want to be absolutely sure, it's best to call Disney and ask what it would be for the specific date you are talking about.

I just looked on allears and it says over $44 per adult:
http://allears.net/menu/menu_crb.htm
so I'm not sure where you're seeing that cheaper price.

I was at CRT in December '10, and the price for the adult breakfast was $47.23, including tax and tip. This was just the breakfast price, it's more expensive for lunch and dinner.

And at the risk of sounding like a snob, it's not really a buffet (and I don't know if the other meals are like this, but I know breakfast is) it's a pre-plated all-you-care-to-eat meal. So you pick one of three (I think) options and they will just keep bringing out more of it as you ask. And with breakfast, they also give you fruit and assorted pastries (the chocolate croissants were delicious!) along with your meal.

HTH! Enjoy your trip!!

Ok I am going crazy...I rechecked All Ears and it does say 44.99. Thank you for putting me on the right track!

Do you think paying for CRT out of pocket would be better or a breakfast buffet at CP and Ohana?

We never do the dining plan, but I think the advice I usually see is to pay the least expensive thing OOP, so for me, I would look at CRT as a $22 "value" per credit, and then compare the price for 'Ohana and CP breakfasts.

Someone else may come along with better advice that has more DDP experience than me!

I'd calculate tax into the values for CP and 'Ohana. I initially thought paying for a breakfast buffet OOP would be cheaper than CRT, but after calculating tax it was pretty much a wash either way.

Remember also that CRT INCLUDES tax and tip - paying OOP elsewhere will likely cost you way more than $22 a credit when you factor in those costs. We are paying OOP for lunch for the adults. I think it's cheaper to pay OOP for lunch to free up two dining credits for use elsewhere.

Thanks so much for your help. I did not realize that the tip was included for CRT. That will be the better deal I believe. Plus the payment is made at time of booking so every meal will already be paid for. :thumbsup2

CRT is the easiest ADR to get a price for as you can do it online:

- make an online ADR
- it will give you the price per person, and then calculate tax at the bottom with a final price for whole party
- right before it asks for payment, you can cancel

This way, you will get the correct price. As mentioned above, the price includes tax and tip for CRT.

All buffets went up by a few dollars for 2011 - I just called Disney the other day, but you don't need to as you can just get the price through the online ADR site. Peak season prices are $4.00/adult and $2.00/child + tax on top of each meal.

All Ears and WDWinfo are frequently wrong, but in all fairness, Disney frequently changes prices, due to their peak seasons.

Best of luck, Tiger
