Trying to decide between the two. My youngest is adamant that she does NOT want to eat with any characters because she's scared of them. She loves Minnie, but only as a stuffed animal or on tv. So I guess it's a meal with the princesses. Any input? I'm just hesitant of CRT--being so expensive or 2 credits if we decide to do the DDP.

Normally, I would recommend CRT because of the atmosphere, but given that you said you daughter is not into characters (has she ever seen the princesses before?), I would probably go with Akershus. If you have to rush through a meal because she is not happy, it's better to spend less money/credits at Akershus. The food isn't really wonderful at either location, so that's not really a deciding factor for me. I like CRT better because it seems more "magical" (it must be something about eating in a castle).

I don't think she will be afraid of the princesses--just the life sized characters. They freak her out for some reason. I'm kinda leaning toward CRT just for the experience of eating in the castle. Thanks for your input!

In that case...I like CRT for the atmosphere and the set-up with the princesses. Cinderella is downstairs and that's who you take the picture with before heading up to the dining room. In my experience, the princesses have been Aurora (pink dress), Ariel (green dress), Snow White, and Jasmine (she replaced Belle when New Fantasyland opened). Sometimes you'll see other princesses, but those are most commonly seen. There is a little announcement when each princess enters the dining room. They all follow a specific pattern, so you know when the princess will be at your table next (that way you have your camera ready and your mouth isn't full :)).

Each guest gets a wishing star and either a sword or a wand. Some folks have reported not getting either if they are an adult. If that happens just ask (if you want one); they should give one to your DD when you get to your table. There is a little ceremony with the wishing star.

As for the food...well, you get to pick an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The food comes out pretty quickly, but I've never felt rushed. It isn't outstanding food, but most folks do not go for the food...they go for the experience and the princesses.

If your DD likes Cinderella's story, be sure to look up in the waiting area. Jacque and Gus-Gus are hiding near the ceiling.
