We're planning our next trip, and in all our trips, we've never been inside of CRT.

We're not a princessy bunch and honestly, I'd rather get really great food instead of the characters.

So I'm wondering does anyone know if there is ever a time guests can just wander through and see the restaurant even if they aren't eating? I've tried searching, but there are hundreds and hundreds of posts...so I thought I'd just try.

Thanks so much!
:flower3:

You have to walk to the podium and check in to get into the restaurant area. You can take photos of the mosaics inside the castle though. The restaurant is actually upstairs, up a spiral staircase, beyond the podium and behind some doors.

I don't know. It's a very small restaurant and on the 2nd floor. When you go up, someone is waiting for you to seat you. I can't see them letting people wonder around, plus, I think you'd be uncomfortable. :confused3 You should make an ADR and eat there at least once. It's very pretty inside. We don't go often, but every few years.

I do not think you will be able to enter the actual restaurant upstairs. Maybe the waiting area on the lower floor.

I have been told that at about 3 or so before they open the restaurant to diners that you can go in and see it. We have always had reservations but I thought this was really cool...I guess you would have to ask at the podium and hope you get a pleasant CM, but I read that it is possible....Hope it all works out....Honestly though I actually really enjoyed my food when we have gone. We really enjoy food and weren't dissapointed, but I know other people have had bad things to say so maybe we were just lucky.

Thanks so much everyone! We have decided we wanted to try to explore all the things we've never done this time...which includes alot of restaurants.

Honestly, I didn't mean to insult the food at CRT, I'd just rather spend that kind of money at Jiko or Chefs de France, my two favorites. I suppose I could give up one of them.

sigh...

So many wonderful things...so little time and money! :cutie:

I'm going to give asking at the podium a try, it can't hurt to ask, right?

Thank you again!!

I think your best opportunity might be to go to the podium toward the end of lunch and simply ask if there might be a time between lunch and dinner when you could see the inside. If you have kids with you, we sure to take them to the podium and have them looking hopeful and excited.

There'll likely be preparation going on - cleaning up after lunch or setting up before dinner, so it might be just a little less "magic" than you might get during a meal. But as others have said, it's a lovely setting for a meal, and probably smaller than you're expecting.
