CRT dinner--character dining?

So we decided kind of late that we wanted to do CRT on our next vacation. The only opening was for dinner so I booked it. Now looking on WDW website, they say that only breakfast and lunch are character dining. Will Cinderella be there at dinner or just the fairy godmother? Is it still worth going to for kids at dinner? I've heard the food is so-so, but we were going for the experience. What do you think?

You get to meet Cinderella before you go upstairs to dinner and the picture is included in the cost. Only the Fairy Godmother appears with the two castle mice (Susi an Pearla) every so often in the main dining room to do a song and quick flit around the room. Although DH and I had a nice time (no children) there is not much character interaction. We thought the dinner food was good.

I think if your kids are wanting character interaction, it would not be the best place. You could try Crystal Palace - the Pooh characters are there.

On the other hand - it is fun to eat in the castle.

I'm not ashamed to say on these boards that this one is for me. We are doing some other character dining experiences for the kids, but I really wanted to be in Cindy's castle. I just know that I won't enjoy it if the kids don't, you know?

I think you will be fine then. I really loved eating there -- and there is enough interesting stuff going on that I think the kids will still enjoy it! It was beautiful inside. I noted the usual kids fare at other tables, and they seemed to like it.

Look for Gus and Jacque (castle mice) (small statues-not live) somewhere high up while waiting inside the lobby!

We are doing CRT for dinner for the first time this December. I can't wait. It will be our 14th anniversary dinner. I thought the castle would be romantic.
