CRT dinner = 2TS?

If you've never experienced it and you have serious "Cinderella" fans - then, YES , it's worth it. We (DH, DS and me) went a few years ago and needless to say, my son hated it!! My husband was not impressed or disappointed (except for the very small food portions), however, since I am a "princess in training" princess:, I LOVED IT!! There's something about being inside of a "castle" and having your picture taken with Cinderella etc - but the food is nothing to rave about. Of course, you can also have your picture taken with Cinderella and (a very cute) Prince Charming at 1900 Park Fare.....but the ambiance is not quite the same.

We did breakfast (cheaper than dinner and we are breakfast people). We paid out of pocket for it. I figured for the price I would rather get 2 nice dinners paid for on the meal plan (instead of burning it on 1 breakfast).

Hope that helps!

We plan to do CRT for dinner our last day regardless and have already paid for it. Our oldest DD wants to meet Cinderella so bad and wants to go in the castle even more. The ambience will of that will be worth it. Am considering the regular DDP (never done a plan before and keep going back and forth.)

I thought it was worth it because we were in the castle (which is a great experience), we got a good meal, tip was already included, and we got pictures with Cinderella.

I'm not sure if you mean spending 2 TS credits on vs. paying OOP or if you mean is the food worth it at all. So, I'll respond to both ;)

We are doing dinner, which would be $236 OOP. Divide that by half and its $118. We have some TS planned which are $80 and some (mainly just Garden Grill) that are $150. Most are in between, so as long as we sill have credits for our most expensive meals, then it is worth it to spend the 2 TS.

As for the second one, this will be our first time eating there so I can't comment on personal experience, but from reviews I get the feeling that most of the cost is for the experience and not the food.

I think it was worth it...though I'm not sure if it's something that I need to do again for a while. My mom and I went last September and we were on the Deluxe Dining Plan. It was a decent amount of food but not so much that I couldn't finish everything...so probably just about right. You get pictures with Cinderella included as part of the experience and then you can have pictures taken with all the princesses during the meal. Mom and I both had a great time. If I were on the regular dining plan then I'm not sure if I would want to give up a TS on another day for it...but then that's why I do deluxe because I don't like CS. Not sure if that helps...but I think if you have never done it and want to then it is definitely worth the 2TS credits.

Is it worth it, financially speaking.

We also use the DDP but pay OOP for this meal. Since we are a family of 3, and DS is under 3 we dont pay for him. It usually comes out to $130 for the two of us (with tip) and then we take the credits we would have used for this night and do two character breakfasts. DS loves the characters and I love having my meals pre-paid so this method works perfect for us!

This is the first time we'll use the DDP and I know we are doing CRT and have been trying to think whether we should use 2 TS credits on it or pay OOP for two other meals. Thanks!

We've done both dinner & bkfst. But were on the deluxe plan both times. Dinner was Thanksgiving day a couple years ago & my dd's 40th bday. We had the traditional thanksgiving meal & it was decent but I really can't say about the quality of the regular dinner fare. Our server was the absolute best ever. Bkfst was really worth it & since we were a party of 5 we got 2 photo pkgs. And the servers kept bringing out extra platters of food.

We aren't doing it. My DD6 isn't really into princesses, so we chose to do Akershus instead because it is only one TS instead of 2 TS. I just can't justify spending 2 credits when I could still get the princess experience at Akershus and enjoy ANOTHER restaurant as well. (We are on the DDP)

For breakfast I think it is. Especially if you have never done CRT. We just did dinner and left hungry and looking for CS lol.

We used the 2 credits a few years ago and I thought it was worth it once. That happened to be my best meal the whole trip of eight days.

It is only worth it if you have young kids who love the princesses or if you do it once just to say you have eaten in the castle, it is definately not worth it from a food perspective on the dining plan at 2TS. Your much better off at Asherkus at EPCOT for your money.

Here's how I make the call as to whether CRT is worth it on the dining plan:

In general, if I am on the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan, then CRT is worth the two meal credits to me.

If I am only on the Disney Dining Plan, then I weigh my options. If I have plans to eat at two other restaurants, and if I believe I will spend more than $30 per person at those two restaurants, then I will pay out of pocket for CRT and use my meal credits for the two other restaurants. If the other restaurants will be less expensive than $30 per person (i.e., a breakfast), then I will go ahead and use my meal credits at CRT.

That's how I decide. I use that $30 rule of thumb and check out the menus to see if I will spend more or less per person.
