We dined at CRT for the first time last month for breakfast on the dining plan. I've read on this board yesterday that the tip is included. Is this true? We didn't know and gave the server a tip based on the value of the breakfast. Shouldn't someone at CRT told us? I'm mad that if thisbis true not only did we burn 2 credits but paid a double tip.

I dont have the answer to your questions, but if so Im not surprised they wouldn't say anything. We often tip well above when service is great and whenever we have tipped above at a tip included place they never say anything. I think it would be more awkward for someone to say, hey.....did you really wanna tip me that much?

We always check our bill too because we also had the same thing once at a restaurant elsewhere and our service was horrible. I just chalked it up to a lesson learned. I really hate when restauarants do this. On the flip side I can understand why they do, especially at a place like Disney where people are already spending so much. I could see where waiters get screwed a lot. I've just had to learn to open my mouth and complain if service isn't good at a place when I know they are going to take the tip out. And if service is great I still give them more.

:) Any time we have dined and used credits I have had to be very careful about tipping. The receipts are very confusing to me. They give you the 18% and 20% choice to circle--so you do then write it in on the tip line , thinking you are just clarifying the amount, and baddabing you have just double tipped. I can remember when DH and I got the DDP years ago and tips were included. We ate at Fulton's one night and the waitress suggested the Surf and Turf with XYZ. I thought she was being nice until we left and DH commented that she did that for a bigger tip--I thought that was a little bit at cheating the system and probably why that plan ended so quickly.

So I am sure DH and I have accidentally double tipped at some point, were non the wiser and were not told so we could correct it. :guilty:

I can't fathom why you feel you ""got ripped off". The fact that the tip is included in CRT is clearly spelled out. That you didn't read the info and know that is not Disney's fault, it is your fault.
Nothing to be mad at - just live and learn

It was our first time there and no we did not see it spelled out. I feel like we tipped 40 percent which we had no intension of doing even for great service. Yes I do feel ripped off.

I just checked the Disney site and they don't mention it. When we arrived at the restaurant we mentioned to the cast members we encountered it was our first time so I think they should have mentioned it.

Now I know.
