CRT character interaction update question?

I booked our ressies for CRT and was told by the CM that the characters no longer walk to the tables? We did this back in 2004 and the highlight was having all the princesses come to our table and have them to ourself for photos.

How do you interact with them (if at all) now?
Is the lunch/dinner no longer a princess meal? Is it just cindy and no character interaction?
As I said it has been a few years since we have eaten there so could someone update me on this new policy or was the cm on the phone a loony tune?

Breakfast & Lunch are still character meals. At dinner the fairy godmother and mice sing songs to celebrate special occasions, but they don't pose for pictures or give autographs. Cinderella is always downstairs to pose for pictures.
