I have an ADR for breakfast at CRT - 8:30am reservation for our trip in March. It will be myself, DH, DD6 and DD4. This is our first to Disney as a family and not certain if there will be a second down the road.

I just checked the reservation system and I could get an ADR for lunch at 11:45am. We are going to the castle for the overall experience and not expecting much in terms of food quality but would hope to get descent interaction with the princesses. With that said, would you choose to have breakfast or lunch?

I would choose breakfast over lunch. We just got back and had lunch at CRT and did not enjoy the food at all. It was our worst meal of the trip. You can't go wrong with breakfast food. Also, an 8:30 ressie gets you in the park early so you can take some great pictures in front of the castle. I recommend staying with the ressie you have.

I love breakfast in the park before it opens. It seems more magical in my opinion for the kids to be there with only a few other people.

We prefer character lunches and dinners to breakfasts because we don't want to lose prime touring time and we aren't big breakfast eaters anyway (the continental breakfast spread at the CL is always plenty for us), but if you like eating big breakfasts, I'd keep the breakfast reservation--you can get pictures in a nearly-empty park and breakfast food is IMO harder to mess up too badly than lunch or dinner food. It's been a long time since we've eaten at CRT (in fact, it may have still been King Stefan's when we last ate there), so I can't speak to food quality.

It depends on whether your kids are morning people and if you are dealing with a time change. Our DD is not a morning person. We quickly discovered on our first WDW trip with her that pre-park opening breakfasts do not work for us, even though it is just a one hour time change- we are lucky to get there at rope drop which is what we try to do. We do most of our TS, including CRT, at lunch, but we don't do afternoon breaks. We get some good morning park time in, then stop for a TS lunch to have a little sit down and rest time. Then we are all ready to go again!

We did a supper there 3weeks ago and the food was not great. The highlights were the great interaction with the princesses.
Echoing the sentiments of others that the food is not great, I would be hesitant to suggest Lunch, however, the relatively uncrowded mornings will afford one the opportunity to take advantage of some rides and fastpasses.

Hiding from the afternoon heat, having lunch, at the castle may be a good idea.

g'luck.

We did breakfast in June. The food was ok IMHO, but I'm not a breakfast person, I'd much rather just eat a bagal and go on my merry way. The best part about our CRT was it was a pre-opening ressie. My pics are GREAT of the castle with NOONE in the background. We were able to get fun pics at the partner statues as well. For me this was soooo worth it!! Mind you I did enjoy watching DD stare in awe @ Ariel, and would do it again for her, but this trip we're giving a late night meal a try- hoping the park will be emptying out as we finish for some good night pics :)

am a whatever your style is, go for it type of person.

None of us eat a large early breakfast. We would rather be at rope drop and do rides. We have noww done four linches and have had a good time, but the Major Domo's was available.

If you like breakfast, then go. The same princess mix will be there and the price is lower.

If you are like us and would feel bloated with a large breakfast, then do lunch.

We've done all meals there, DH likes their breakfast. I prefer lunch b/c I just can't justify spending that much or using 2TS for breakfast food! ;) DD doesn't really care what food is going in her mouth...it's all about just being in the castle for her.
I agree with PP though, eating in the park before everyone else is there is really cool. But, does depend on your families eating preferences. It is a huge amount of food for breakfast, IMO. We will skip lunch when we eat breakfast there and have they have given us bags for our leftover breakfast breads & pastries, great for snacks later.

I like to eat lunch there (although I am venturing over to dinner this trip on the night we do MVMCP). Avoided it before, since the princesses did not come around. The food is not great, but it is okay. You do not get dessert with breakfast, and I like the desserts there.

Thanks for the response. We will keep our breakfast ressie and will make sure we don't feed our kids to much that morning (they are early risers) so they take advantage of the big breakfast!
