CRT breakfast or lunch and time?

Oh trying to decide what to do if we should be so lucky as to get a reservation at CRT. I guess my initial thought was to get to the park at rope drop, tour a bit, do BBB (just hair and make-up) and then lunch at CRT. If this is a good idea then what time would be best for lunch? Otherwise - Just have some questions and looking for feedback -
1) Why do so many more people want to go to breakfast vs. lunch? - price?, menu? timing?
2) Is there a preferable time for either B or L? meaning is it better to try to get there early, middle part of meal time or later? Is there any risk say at a late lunch time of Cinderella being gone. Any down side to a later lunch?

Also my DD is kind of picky - does not eat veggies or meat except fish sticks and chicken nuggets/strips (so mostly plain pasta, dairy, breads/cereals, fruits). If we opted one day for the Akerhaus would she still find enough to eat at either breakfast or lunch? Other than price and menu is there a difference between going for breakfast or lunch (such as feeling rushed or which princesses attend)?

Sorry to have so many questions but this is a first trip to WDW and probably our last for many years since we live SO far away. Thanks.

You don't have to wait for rope drop to do BBB or castle unless you just want to. ONe of the benefits of booking these is you can get into the park early before everyone else. Great photo ops.

I chose breakfast because 1. cheaper (will pay OOP instead of using DDP)
2. food is supposed to be better
I have heard that the food is not great but that breakfast is harder to mess up of course.

Our plan is we are arriving at BBB @ 8:05 am and then have ressies for cindy's @ 9:15 (I think these are rigt times but you get the idea)

If you want either of these though you need to CALL NOW. Cindy's fills up fast and at this point you may not have many choices anyway (although some can poss open up). See what you can get and go from there.

BTW: Congrats on your first Trip. My family went on there first last year and now they want to make it yearly.

This plan worked out great for us. . .

First I called for an ADR for CRT for a late breakfast - our ADR was for 10:20am. Then I called and got a BBB ressie for 8:55am. (They suggested a time based on my ADR time.) We entered the park at 8:30am (opening at 9am) and got great photos of empty Main St, the castle and us and DD in front of the castle. Then DD had hair makeup and nails done at BBB. We had time to ride the Carousel before our ADR at CRT.

I think people choose breakfast because it is cheaper - if they are paying. I don't know what food is served at lunch but my dd is picky as well and they were very helpful at breakfast. She eats breakfast meats but not eggs or the stuffed french toast they offer. I asked for toast for her and they made it for me with no problem. For us, late breakfasts and dinners worked better for our touring plans. We would have a snack at the hotel or bus stop in the AM so we weren't starving and then had time to do AM touring before our ADRs.

I am sure it will be great whatever you decide!

We did the breakfast at 10:05 in April and loved it. The food was pretty good. Its a fixed plate (no choices) the kids get french toast sticks and potatoes. DD is very fussy and was not happy with her meal, however, they bring a bowl of fruit to share and a basket of bread, which included danishes. She ate a ton of fruit and had a danish. The princesses were Belle, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.

Anyone know which princesses are at lunch? We are thinking debating lunch vs. breakfast next Feb.

When we went for lunch in May of 2006 it was Cinderella (lobby), Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Belle and Fairy Godmother. We are going for lunch again in Oct of this year. DD was not quite 3 when we went the last time. We thought the food was very good considering we were in a theme park.

Good luck!

This past April, they were exactly the same as they were for you for breakfast.

I have to respectfully disagree with this, as I look at it another way. I'll preface this by saying that I haven't been there for breakfast for many years, but based upon what I'm hearing it hasn't really changed much.

Rather than assuming breakfast is harder to mess up, I'd argue that breakfast is harder to make really good. Eggs are eggs, and there's only so much one can do to make great tasting eggs. (of course, I'm not talking caviar omelets here, I'm talking the types of items actually served at this breakfast)

I found the lunch to be very good, surprisingly so. The actual name escapes me, but I ordered the beef that came with vegetables on the flaky pastry. It was phenomenal. My wife ordered the same thing and agreed it was quite good. Mother in law said her pork tenderloin was possibly the best she'd ever had.

It's also worth pointing out that the breakfast is pre-plated, everyone gets the same plate of assorted items. To me, this already puts it a step below selecting what I want from the menu. Also, with anything pre-plated, there's the possibility of the food sitting for some period of time. (Granted, given the volume CRT does, I doubt this is a real issue) Speaking from direct experience though--and again, it was a while ago-- the food was luke warm.

I don't doubt that even the lunch food I just raved about is probably inconsistent. Know up front that dining at CRT is an experience, not just a meal. All things together I'd say it's worth it at least once though.

It is nice to hear a positive experience with the lunch menu. You hear such bad things about the food at CRT on the board.
