CRT Breakfast - Menu looks kind of boring?!

Ok. I think it would be super cool to eat in the castle, but I really don't care about the princesses. So I looked at CRT, and I have to say, the breakfast menu looks pretty boring. I generally enjoy the character buffets because the characters are fun and there's such a variety of different food. CRT looks like it's the most basic of breakfast foods. I get that it's the castle, but at such a $$$ or 2 dp credits, I want something pretty amazing.

Is there more to the food than I'm finding?

Thanks!
Deb

We ate there last week. When you're seated, you're served fresh orange juice and/or coffee, a basket of fresh rolls (choc crossants, plain crossants, and cin rolls were in our basket), plus a big bowl of fresh fruit (mellon, berries, etc). We were served a platter w/ scrambled eggs, b/fast potatoes, bacon & sausage. We could also have stuffed french toast, yogurt & granola if we liked. They'll bring you 2nds of whatever you like.

The real "thill" is meeting the princesses. In the lobby, you're families picture is taken with Cinderella. You're presented with a lovelyfolio containing a 8x10, plus 4 5x7's as your "gift". Girls are given wands, boys swords. Coming to our table were Aurora, Belle (blue dress), Snow White and Auriel.

We had the first seating (8:05). We were done w/ b/ast & all the princesses about 8:50. We then waited at the back on the castle near the Snow White ride for "rope drop". There were only a handfull of us. So you can get a really good start to the most popular ride(s).

It's expensive, but magical. We don't do this every visit, maybe once every 2-3 years.

PP is absolutely correct, the magic is being in the castle with the princesses.

I thought the same way you did when we planned this. My dad who is used to ordering off a bit more extensive menu was disappointed when he could not get another egg choice, but settled for the scrambled eggs.

It was fun to watch the kids with the princesses, but honestly I don't think I would do this again. We enjoyed 1900 Park Fare ( with Mary Poppins ) and O'hana at the Poly ( with Lilo and Stitch and Mickey and Friends ) better.

1900 is a bufett so there were options for everyone and the food was very good and most importantly - fresh. Ohanas is a plated breakfast similar to CRT but a lot less cost.

We went for CRT breakfast in May for the first time. The food is very boring and not that great. The best part was the fruit and pastries, the main dish wasn't all that great. My DH did ask for a second helping though and that was not a problem. I had the cream cheese french toast and it was dried out - not good - with that plastic bacon they serve. The fruit, coffee, and pastries were great and it was awesome to eat IN the castle and to see the princesses (and get the photos that come with the meal).

So - I have no desire to go back :) It was not worth the money for the food but the rest was great for us and the kids. And they get you IN and OUT in about 30 minutes!!!

We really enjoyed this breakfast. It is nice not to have to get your own like the buffets. DH got the traditional and I had the stuffed french toast and we shared. They even brought DH an extra plate before he was finished.

The food, timing and character interaction was very good.

We were there 7-30!:cheer2: DD (5) loved it! We did it right after BBB! I had the stuffed french toast and thought it was awesome! Loved the chocolate croisants that were in the pastry basket also! Look forward to going back!

Good to know you can ask for seconds!! My DD (9) eats like a horse and is a stick! Plus she LOVES scrambled eggs! We have breakfast scheduled there during our trip in a few weeks.

Thanks for the info!!

It is fun to eat in the castle but breakfast not as large of selection as other character breakfast. It takes lot of checking or calling to get ADR for CRT and has to be held with a credit card in case of no show. We had great time there and want to try dinner sometime:thumbsup2

We will have our 2 year old with us and wondered if serving her from the plated breakfast meal we are eating is correct. I am guessing that its ok since she is to young for the dining plan, but i have never been seated at a all you can eat, plated and brought to you meal, so I wasn't sure. Does anyone have any experience with this?

he'll be served his own french toast sticks and believe eggs too. That's what they've always done for our under 2's. Plus they can have the pastries, fruit and a drink and whatever you'd like to share with them.
