Has anyone dined at CRT with a TIW card, if so how did the auto gratuity work since it is built into the price of the meal??

Thanks

82 more days til our 2nd WDW trip:wizard:

I really can't remember, but I can give you these numbers.

We paid in advance $164.26 for breakfast for 3 adults and 1 child (Jan 2010 price - no peak pricing).

At the restaurant, we got a credit back with our TiW card for $25.19.

You don't get any TiW discount on the portion of the total price that is allocated for the photo package (I don't know what that number is, never tried to figure it out, but I guess you could).

ok so they basically just give you a discount. Now that 164 was that tip included or not?

Yes because you prepay for the entire thing, meal & gratuity (and photo package as well but they don't tell you the price for that separately). So we paid nothing else than what I stated (just know that I booked that in October 2009 so I don't know what today's prices are for that meal, probably more!).

On December 4, 2010 the cost for three adults for dinner with the TIW card was $150.23 or about $50.08 per person. Hope that helps.

To add to the discussion: I've read here and elsewhere that the cost of CRT includes a photo package (number of packages based on number of people at the table). This portion of the cost does not qualify for the TIW disount. So the TIW discount if based on the cost of the food after subtracting the cost of the photo package. If anyone had dinner at CRT in early December (before holiday pricing went into effect) without TIW, I would be curious to know how much it cost (final bill).

Did you book this online? I always use to call and book CRT over the phone and told them I had the TIW. They would give me the discount and I would have to show the card at the restaurant when I got there. I never paid the full price and was issued a "credit" after. May be that is how they do it now, it has been several years since I did it

I did book that online and paid in full in advance. You can't connect TiW with an online reservation. I do not know what they do now if you call on the phone to book a pre-paid reservation and have the TiW card - I mainly book everything online.

You can do a dummy ADR online though for CRT, and it will show you the current price for your travel date. Right before it asks for payment, it will give you a summary screen, that shows you the prices for your meal.

This won't help with TIW, as you can't input that discount, but you can figure it out by taking the 20% and then adding back an auto 18% gratuity. It should be very close to what you will actually pay.

Hope this helps, Tiger :)
