I am thinking of going to CRT (not sure for breakfast, lunch or dinner) and was wondering if anyone has dined there with a peanut allergy and if so how was your experience. I think I'd like to do breakfast but I see french toast and I am wondering if that would be safe for DD to eat (the bread, where does it come from?) and if its not then could they make her pancakes?
Thanks!
O and also, do you have any other places to recommend? stay away from? We had a wonderful experience at Chef Mickey's and plan on doing that this year as well. :thumbsup2

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. I would start off by going to Post #3 and look under dietary restrictions for information an links to reports.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.

Also, you might just look in the index of disABILITIES threads and you will see quite a few posts that related to dietary restrictions and allergies.

We have dined at CRT several times for lunch. My daughter is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. They were very accommodating to us. The chef came out and talked to us about her choices for lunch. She was very happy with all the meals there. I don't think you will have a problem. We have never eaten there for breakfast, but I don't you would have a problem finding plenty of things to eat. :)

We ate there 3 years ago with PA DS. I don't remember him not being able to eat what the rest of us were, except for any sweets if there are any (muffins, donuts, sticky bun).

We are going to WDW in July and this time I'm going to take notes at each restaurant so I can be more helpful in these situations. I don't remember what we ate there.

I'm sure your child will be able to have a wonderful breakfast!

Thanks OP for asking this question. The only reason that I may do lunch is b/c of the pastries. I have yet to find a restaurant at Disney where the pastries at breakfast are safe. Breads are the biggest concern at Disney b/c they ship a lot of them in from offsite and therefore won't guarantee they are safe. I was going to contact the food allergies phone number and ask specifically about CRT. I want the girls to see the princesses which I do not think are present at dinner ( I think only the Fairy Godmother) so that leaves lunch. Unless, like you said, they are willing to accomodate and make a special meal. Let me know if you find anything out in your research and I'll do the same!

We had breakfast at CRT in May and are going back again this May!! Both of our boys have PA and the chefs were fantastic. They had to stay away from the danish but were able to have the french toast sticks. They offered to make them pancakes or waffles also. The chef came to the table just like all of the other restaurants. Like I said, we are going back! Have a great time!

Hi there! I just saw some cute pics of the chocolate crown dessert for kids and have heard about the chocolate slipper dessert at CRT. Does anyone w/ PA know if these are safe for my dd? Thanks!

Just heard back from someone at Dining and here is their response:
I would not suggest the chocolate slipper and Crown. The Slipper and the crown both say that they have traces of nuts. We do have Ice Cream and Sorbet. If you have any more questions please call us at 407-824-7045

I guess I have a hard time reconciling the expense of this restaurant and the fact that my kids can't have the main dessert. Still not sure what to do.

Neither of my kids could eat the regular desserts. They both ate the Enjoy Life cookies; CRT is one of the few places around WDW that carries them. For us, dining in the castle just one time was worth it. Of course my oldest LOVES very rare beef so the prime rib at dinner was a huge reason for us to go as well. Only you can decide how they'll handle not getting to have this dessert and if it's worth it for your family or not. Good luck with your decision.

The princesses are now at Dinner too!
