Does anyone know for sure if CRT still accepts the DDE discount with the new changes?

I've had some tell me that we can't use the DDE off, but it is still listed on the AP website and the CM elluded to me that I could present the DDE to get the discount at the podeum at check-in; however, at this point I've had to pay the full amount up-front (no discount).

Thanks!

It can be used....I made an ADR for May and hung up before telling the CM that I had the DDE card. I called back and they applied the discount BUT....they don't discount off the price of the photos so the discount ends up being around 10% or so.

lillygator, they actually applied the discount with you while on the phone? They charged me the full amount!

I did just call Disney dining and asked the CM, and though she was very nice, she didn't have a clue about the Disney Dining Experience. She said, "all you have to do is show up and swipe your card and it will remove 2 TS credits." I had to inform her that the DDE and DP were 2 totally different things. So she asked me how I got the DDE and where. Then she checked the computer and read the CRT info and she said it indicated that the DDE discount does still apply towards food and beverages. She was not sure if the discount had any affect due to the photo package because that stuff was "included" with the meal, not an additional expense.

I dunno, I'm just concerned that I'm going to arrive and they are going to tell me that I can't get the discount, because then it would be too late to do the 48 hour cancelation without penalty (which could be a whole other battle). Hrmm... I guess I can check on my first day at MK and make sure because now that I look back over my schedule, we aren't going to CRT until day 6.

Present the DDE card when you're there and they will credit back the difference to your card. My IPO planner called and checked on this for me and she was told by the restaurant that this is what they will do.

I would try calling back and speaking with a different CM. I had to call back and they took the DDE discount off and I saw a credit to my cc within a few days. I originally paid the full amount and then had to call back with the DDE info.

I have a ressie for May and the CM applied the discount while I was on the phone and then I paid the total with a CC.

I would also call back.

Did you have to provide the DDE card number for them to apply the discount? The reason I ask, I have not received my DDE card or number yet. I'm hoping the permanent card will arrive in the next couple of weeks, otherwise I will have to pickup a temp card from Epcot when I arrive.

BTW, thanks for all the info!

I just got back from Disney Saturday and we had lunch at Cinderella's. I had called Disney Dining ahead of time to have the discount applied and they said they would reimburse me the 20% off the dining portion of the package. Well, it never showed up on my credit card so when I showed up I told them I had a DDE card and they gave me a gift certificate good for anywhere in Disney for the amount of the discount.

No, I did not have to provide anything off the card when I made my call to MS.

We were there February 15th for the breakfast. I presented them with my DDE card...to which they gave me a gift certificate card for the difference. I had been told by a CM when I made my reservation that the DDE card would not apply...then after reading the boards...I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask while we were eating...When another woman overheard us, she got out her DDE card, too... :bounce:  :cool1:

Thanks everyone! I just called and they cancelled my ADR and rebooked it with the discount. However, they are definately using some "funny math" to calculate the discount.

Original Price:
39.99 (x2) + 5.20 (tax) + 11.16 (tip) = $96.34 (for 2 adults)

with DDE ~20% discount
33.79 (x2) + 4.40 (tax) + 11.16 (tip) = $83.14 (for 2 adults)

Now the only part that throws me off is.... 33.79 is not 20% off, it's more like 15.5%. :confused3 Oh well, I figure I'll still go for 15.5% off. Now I just have to make sure my credit card is refunded and recharged correctly.

Thanks again for the info!
