Okay, so we are going to be at WDW on December 29, which is my daughter's 6th birthday, and she of course wants to eat in the castle on her birthday with Cinderella. We are also travelling with another family - total party of 10, so I knew my fingers would have to be fast this morning.
Well, I am getting too good at this, as I got through to an agent at 6:59 a.m. today. She found a 12:20 lunch for a party of 10 and asked me to spell my last name.... and then my phone line (land line) went completely dead!!!! Nothing. Screen on my cordless phone said simply "No Line"!!! I couldn't believe it... could some other Disney maniac have been outside my house cutting my phone line in an effort to get through themselves?
I'll never know. Five minutes later the line came back to life.
In the meantime, dejected, I hopped on my cell phone to call the Grand Gatherings department to book the Safari Dinner on the same day. Took me 15-20 minutes to get through to them, and finally got that booked. Then I told him about my experience with CRT and he mentioned that he would check for me again. After a few short seconds and a few keystrokes, he offered me breakfast for a party of 8 at 8:30 a.m. or lunch for my total party of 10 at 12:30!!!!! Of course, I was in schock... it was now 7:45 a.m., and these tables should have been gone long ago. The only thing I can think is that they hold a few tables back for large groups booking through Grand Gatherings.
Anyway, I am still so amazed that this stupid Cinderella meal can drive a grown man to total despair or to utter elation... in my case both within a period of less than an hour, but there you have it.
If anyone is part of a Grand Gathering, try calling the GG planners to get that hard-to-get ADR... worked for me!
