CRT $45 for breakfast!

We have eaten at CRT for dinner and I was thinking about going for breakfast until I saw it was $45 for adults and $30 for kids. I can't believe how high it is, no wonder people do the dining plan.

CRT costs 2 credits on the dining plan, so not a great deal there. The price includes tip and a photo plus swords and wands for the kiddos, so not really that bad, if eating in the castle or with Cindy is a priority.

We did it last year, and it was expensive! The good thing was I paid for the breakfast months in advance, and the tip and the pictures were included. I forgot about all the money I spent by the time I ate! LOL. The food was pretty good, and the expression on my dd's face when she met the princesses was priceless!

Respectfully asking. You're kidding me right? A family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids will run you $150 bucks for breakfast. You think a few pictures is worth that? for eggs, pancakes and sausage?

It's a once," to see the look on your daughters face" time event. This is probably the only event I really think Disney takes advantage of people with little girls.

We did this last year (for dinner) and I thought it would be a once and done as well. The dinner was probably the worst food we had (not terrible just eh), but the girls (6) and (4) were in heaven. I thought the princess interaction was better at Akersus, but dd (4) picked dinner at the castle as the one thing she most wanted to do again this year.

I can't get past the cost of it either, even if it is in the castle. If I somehow got a free upgrade to deluxe dining or something I might do it, but I can't bring myself to spend that money on breakfast. And the dinner menu isn't really that appealing to us, particularly for 2 meal credits.

And I do have a little princess that would love it...but she'll love plenty of other things there too.

we paid oop. I thought it was expensive so we actually split up for that morning. I took dd age 2 to crt and dh took my boys on rides. It was a fantastic bargain for the price of only one adult!

For a family of 4, yes, pricey.

As others have said, it is a once and done sort of experience (that I get to do twice, oh joy - my mom missed it the first time). The food isn't very good, it is very expensive, and you can see the same characters in the parks or at Akershus with the same photo package for less money. But eating in the castle is something special and Disney knows they can charge a premium for it.

Well no, I don't think it's 'good value' - it just depends on what value you place on the experience. Disney character meals aren't cheap. I have to admit, as a party of two, one adult and one child, for us the photo package would be worth it, assuming we wanted it. Theoretically speaking, we could deduct $15 from each of our meal costs as photo money, which would bring it to $30 per head. Then take off gratuity of say $6 per person and it becomes $24 per person. Obviously the more people in your party, the less the savings.

I didn't mean it was good value. I simply implied that it isn't quite as bad as it looks. CRT is definitely one of those meals where you pay for the experience and happen to get some food while you are there, if you know what I mean.

Exactly...all about the experience. Yes...it's really pricey, but that's Disney. We had lunch there last year after DD went to BBB and our sons visited the Pirates League. It was a GREAT experience for the kids. They LOVED it!! Our food was also really good, too. We're actually going back in June for breakfast. My kids requested this place, even my two sons Would my DH and I visit CRT without kids?? No...we do it for the children. Guess it just depends on what one values at WDW and what ones willing to pay for a "Disney" experience. Once our children our much older, this won't be a place we visit.

You can always get a current price for your travel dates, if you book an online ADR. You can go through the entire process, but right before booking, it will give you the current price of CRT.

The system breaks down tax separately, and as with all buffet surcharges during peak season, it shows you the actual per person price (does not show that), and it will then give you a total price. It does not actually book the ADR unless you confirm payment of some type, so this works for pricing!

$45.00 is ridiculous for any breakfast, I also agree, but all buffets have gone up for 2011, so some of you might be even more surprised when you check buffet prices during peak season.

I forgot that the picture was included. We usually eat dinner at CRT, I thought breakfast would be a nice change. I think we will stick with dinner for the small price difference.

when we did a pricier meal we did a late breakfast and it was enough to be breakfast and lunch food(we had cereal in room before.) I agree its pricey so you need to decide if you like the experience enough or not. Some ppl think its worth it and some dont, you can see princesses else where so if that is enough then get a muffin someplace cheap and see characters/princess in another location.

Well, we could say that about many things that are geared towards children.

It is definitely an experience--and they can only take advantage if you allow them to do so.

We went over the summer for my dd's 10th birthday for lunch after BBB and I felt it was worth it. Now--we are unlikely to EVER do it again. I much preferred the old King Stefan's banquet hall. But she wanted to experience Cinderella in the castle and she was able to do so. (The experience was in lieu of anything else.)

But the castle has always been a premium, even before the Cinderella days.

Disney really does no different than any other premium venue around the country that overcharges for eggs and bread products. I don't even like paying counter service prices for breakfast dishes for that matter.

The prices shouldn't be looked at as "just the buffet". It's a full experience that includes photographs, character interaction, breakfast and the ability to eat in the most desirable location in the parks. The price incorporates all of that.

The reason is supply and demand. There are enough people willing to pay those prices to keep the CRT breakfast experience at full capacity at 180 days out. In all probability, Disney could probably raise the prices even more and people would pay for the experience.

As I told my husband, you're paying for the experience, not the meal. For us, it was worth every penny (or 2 dining credits). Will we do it again? I don't know, but I am glad we did it.
