We are planning a big family vacation (me, DH, DD2, Sis, BIL, Mom, Grandma & Grandpa) for September. I have made some ADRs, but thinking about changing come. I'm looking for thoughts on whether to spend 2 TS on CRT for dinner. I would love to go for the experience, but have seen that some DISers say it's not worth the credits. What are thoughts on 1900 Park Fare? I would go to the Princess Dinner at Epcot, but the food scares me. :) What about Garden Grill? We are going to Chef Mickey's, should we go to Garden Grill, too? Any input would be great appreciated!! :worship: My family thinks I'm crazy for stressing about our ADRs.

We ate dinner at 1900 Park Fair in April 2007 and loved the food. This was one of the best buffet dinners we have done at Disney. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also really nice and its fun to see the GF while waiting for your ADR. It was also fun meeting Cinderella and Prince Charming, especially since Prince Charming is hard to find in the parks. Since we have been there, they have added the stepsisters and stepmother and I've heard they are hilarious and that it is worth the cost just to meet them.

I wouldn't waste the credits at CRT. Especially for dinner. There are no princesses there during the dinner. 1900 park fare is very nice. We did that on our last night. Food is good. Characters were wonderful. We had a great time. I think if you are doing CM, I wouldn't bother with Garden Grill. And Askerhaus, the dinner food scares me too! That is why we do the breakfast there, which is very, very good.

So, my food would be for 1900 Park Fare. Cinderalla and her prince waltz and they choose people from the restaurant to dance with them. Very nice experience.

We loved CRT for the atmosphere and it is a once must do, but we probably won't do it again for awhile, we also really loved the 1900 Park Fare and are going back this year, great food and you get to meet Prince Charming too :yay:

I would not waste the 2TS credits to do CRT. We had a bad experience the first time and re-booked last year and had a simular experience. There is little if any interaction with the performers, and there are NO Princesses. You will only get one chance to meet Cinderella, before you go upstairs and I always feel rushed!
Anyways...
Go to 1900 Park Fair, the meal is buffet, is always good (IMO) and the interaction with Cinderella, the step sisters and Prince Charming is amazing! Not to mention the Fairy Godmother... she cannot be outdone in my opinion!
We have booked there twice this trip!

Here's another vote to ditch CRT for dinner and try 1900 Park Fare instead. I use to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE eating in the castle for dinner and thought the menu was SO good, but since they've gone to all-characters, all-the-time, I'm not as impressed. I think your character interaction at 1900 PF will be better and the food will be, also.

Although I'm a fan of Garden Grill, if you're already going to Chef Mickey's I wouldn't consider GG a must-do.

Thank you all for your opinions!!! I think we're going to cancel our ADR for CRT and just stick to 1900 Park Fare. :) Can hardly wait!!!

Be sure and try the Strawberry Soup. One of the CMs overheard me saying it was the best strawberry soup I'd ever had. Of course it was also the only Strawberry Soup I'd ever had, and brought me the recipe. This place was a blast! Drisella latched onto my DS15 and ran around the restaurant screaming his name - SAM, SAM where are you? He was mortified! I loved it!

Ha!! That's so funny about your son and Drisella! I'm sure if my DD2 see's one of the step-sisters she will freak out!! When we were at DL last September she didn't care for any characters...just the princesses. :) Thanks for telling me about the Strawberry soup....not sure I would have tried it other wise...but will now that it's come recommended. :)

Is it September yet???? :yay:

Ok so prince charming is at 1900 park faire dinner, I thought it was CRT???
Daughters want to do that character meal Thanks which one.

Not so sure what is scary about the Epcot Princess meal, looks like a nice range of choices and you only get one entree. Salmon, Cod, Pasta with chicken, pretty tame stuff. :confused3 Keep in mind that one is a "value" because like CRT it includes a photo package, something that would be very special for the trip you have planned. :thumbsup2

We did CRT last year on DDs -5th bday We had good interaction with the characters - we did the photo session and then DD spent some one on one time with Cindy it did not seem rushed at all. We did not however appreciate the food. If you go there it is more for the characters. At dinner it was Fairy Godmother and the mice. It was cute. We also did garden Grill last year we will do this again this year. The food was very good and the characters were cute. We are also trying the Storybook lunch in Norway this year I here it is cute.
