My hubby and I have suddenly discovered we can spring free of the adult children and stay 3 nights on property at the beginning of June. Teacher daughter and her pilot hubby will then join us for 2 weeks at the Vistana and then a few nights at universal.

we are disney vets but all trips over the last 35 years have been with kids. We’ve stayed at AKL multiple times, which we love, GF, WL, PoR, Yacht Club , and CSR before they got older and we moved to the Vistana for sanity.

I’m trying to decide between AKL again, Bay Lake, Copper Creek, Polynesian. If we aren’t at AKL , then I want an MK resort. What’s your fave and why? Thnx!

You don't list it, but if there is any way you can swing the Riv, then I would highly recomend it. Beautiful, romantic and attached to boardwalk, Epcot and DHS by the skyliner. PP is a nice little QS and Toppolino's and Toledo's are really goo TS"S. Bar Riva is a nice indoor outdoor bar as well.We loved our stay there last December.

If MK is essential, our fave is WL so Cc would be our choice. WL to us is quieter than the monorail resorts but just as handy with the boat.

For MK area, you can't go wrong with any of the 4. I love Copper Creek for the theming and intimacy of the resort. I love the feeling I get at the Poly...takes me back to my youth and the early days of WDW. Grand Flo is my home resort so I am slightly biased, but if you want to feel somewhat luxurious, that's the go-to. Our last trip we finally stayed at Bay Lake and I fell in love with the place, the ability to walk to MK cannot be overstated, and the rooms are very nice, although somewhat outdated. My only complaint about BLT is that compared to the other MK resorts there are times it feels like you're in a hotel and not a themed Disney resort.

If I had the budget and they were available, I'd shoot for a Polynesian bungalow. That's just my dream goal though. ☺️

We own at BLT and honeymooned 19 years ago at Poly!
These are without a doubt my favorite hotels!!

Poly is walking distance to TTC which we love for getting anywhere else in property and epcot…

bLT has walk from MK and excellent viewing of fireworks and water pageant …and we like the pool as well - the bar is close and it’s got a good layout.

poly DVC rooms are dreamy with the separate shower - even for a couple it’s nice to have the separated toilet option!!

we stayed at Poly DVC (not bungalow) for the 2016 hurricane closure and it was a great resort to be stuck at! Full of amenities!

I think I have to give my vote to Poly mainly because it also has trader Sam’s, Tonga Toast and Dole Whips!! These are things I would want to enjoy peacefully on an adult trip!!

Even though it wasn't listed: GDT at Coronado.

The answer is always GDT at Coronado. :)

Haven’t yet stayed at the Poly, but that would totally get my vote

I've stayed at all of these multiple times and they are all good options so you can't make a bad choice here. Are you looking at DVC because you have DVC points or are you renting them or are you booking directly with WDW? Just curious if you are looking at poly studios or hotel rooms? Either way, I would vote poly. A) you want an MK resort. B) you've never stayed here. You've stayed at WL, which is essentially the same as CCV. We had a not so great stay at CCV; since the conversion to DVC the walls seem to be SUPER thin. Long story short, we heard Rose cry ALL NIGHT LONG! We know her name was Rose because we could hear the parents yelling at her to go back to sleep and she needed to be a big girl and sleep by herself, so I might be a bit tainted by that experience. I totally get the love for AKL but it's fun to try new resorts. BLT is fine, not my favorite DVC, studios are a bit small but completely doable for 2 people. So that leaves Poly. Studio or hotel room will have just had an update and construction should be all done by then. Nice pool and quite pool. The main drawback is that it rains A LOT in June and the buildings are not connected.

I am not crazy about the Poly because its theming doesn't appeal to me. However, you haven't stayed there, which is why I think you should try it. I have stayed there three times, and the transportation options are good, and the rooms are pretty big. I like the pools, too.
