Crowds

This is probably the $1,000,000 question, but we are traveling to DW 5/1 - 5/9 and wondering what crowds will be like. Should we pay attention to the "guides" as to which Park is busiest and which parks to avoid on certain days?

We only get down to DW once every 3 or 4 years and we want to make the most of our time there. Therefore, we would like to avoid crowds as much as possible.

I go to the park a few times a month and it really seems to be the busiest year I have seen. Plan for it to be busy. I went on a tuesday and had to wait outside pecos bills in line then had to wait in line to order it has be really busy lately.

Early May is a good time to go. Crowds are relatively light.

As for Kfyr23's post, this week is always very busy. It will settle down by early May.

We just got back from our trip 3/24-4/1. It was our first time to WDW and I was nervous that the crowds would be horrible since it was Spring Break season. Honestly--I didn't think the crowds were bad at all. The crowd calendar at UG listed most days at 9's, with an 8 and 2 7's mixed in. We used the suggested parks on the 'best park to visit' lists as well as the touring plans. We saw pretty much everything on our list, even with going home during the day or leaving by mid afternoon and not returning. Our kids are 6 and 9 and had a great time.

I just took a look at the crowd calendar for your dates and they are many 5's and 6's--you should have an easy time! Have a great trip!!

is there a thread or place were you can see the peak and non-peak crowd information?

Our family trip, planned for the week after Thanksgiving has been shot down due to vacation time being blocked at a family members new job.

We are now in scramble mode

You can check out www.***************** and then click on the crowd calendar. This is the web site that goes along with the Unofficial Guide to WDW. Or you can sign up for www.tourguidemike.com and he gives you a day by day suggestion of which parks to go to. Hope that helps!

I have the book and I just signed up for TGM. I have found both of them to be very helpful.
