How bad will the crowds be the week of April 24-30th? On another site it says "More Moderate Attendance: Late April through early June". But also says "Highest Attendance: Mid March through Late April ("Spring Break")." Which is it? Will spring break still be a factor then. It will be my DW and I first wedding anniversary/honeymoon and don't want to deal with over crowed parks. Any info you can give me will be great. Thanx.

My son and I are going that week. I think the parks will be pretty crowded. Public schools in NYC, Long Island, and few other northeast school systems have spring break during that week. It won't be as bad as Easter Break, but it won't be slow either.

I'll see if I can find a few of the old threads on spring break and post links here.

I keep wondering the same thing. I even posted a poll on here a while back. My poll results came out saying it was going to be most crowded the end of April, even more so than Easter week! UGH! my DH will not want to deal with crowds. We will be there from April 24 to May 4th. I have thought about changing our dates to May and avoiding April altogether, however, all the special Disneyland celebrations will be starting on May 5th and I figure that will bring even more crowds than late April. There are only a handful of schools on spring break the last week of April compared to mid March thru the 3rd week of April, so I'm hoping it just seems like it's going to be crowded then  If not, oh well...I guess me and my DH will have to work around all the crowds b/c our vaca is paid in full including airfare and it will be too much of a pain to change everything now! I'm sure we'll be fine at that time. You don't have any kids to worry about so I'm sure you'll be able to work around eveything. If one place is too crowded, go to another. If that's too crowded, go to a lounge :drinking1 then back to your resort
Have a great Anniversary Celebration. We'll be there celebrating our 25th!

We are taking our 4 yr DS for his first visit that week. I have been getting mixed responses about the crowd level. Mostly positive ones. Alot of people enjoy the end of April and had no problems in the past. In my opinion there will always be a school district or large group of somekind that is at Disney. If you try to plan around every single group that might cause some crowds you will drive yourself crazy :earseek: We will go with the flow! It is DISNEY :flower1: We are staying at POP!

Have Fun
Can't wait until April

Thanx everyone, but we decided to just push our trip back one week a to May 1st - 7th. So that will just give me one more week to plan. lol.

My DH and I were there april 23-30, 2004 and thought the crowds were very light compaired to past years, I dont think we waited longer than 20-25 mins for any ride. we had such a good time in april that we are going back this comming year for the same week.

Schools in CT are closed as well. We are going that week. That is my favorite time of the year. We been to WDW during this time numerous times and I can't remember it being overly crowded.

We're going down 4/21 - 5/1 and based on an informal poll I took at work it seems like kids spring break from school will run anywhere from Easter week through the end of April. I'm hoping that it's spread out enuf across the country that no one week will be really packed. We used to go in Nov. after T-Giving but that involved taking DD out of school and I don't want to do that any more.

Sanapunk.....the 50th DL's birthday will be the next celebration that will be going on in ALL Disney theme parks. Though DL will be celebrating the most, WDW will be right there too. For this occassion of DL's 50th birthday, WDW will celebrate by openning new rides/attractions at ALL of it's parks. Soarin' at EPCOT, the stunt show at MGM, new shows at MK, and a new animatronic dinosaur at AK--with AK celebrating the openning of Mt. Everest at the end of the 50th celebration in 2006. This news has been circulating for about 6 months, yet I'm so surprised how many haven't heard of it. I'm sure it will start being promoted the beginning of 2005. The official kickoff is 05/05/05 (see my countdown). There will be lots of press, sponsors, and VIPs. Probably lots of private parties too. Resorts will be very busy also. Of course, add to this crazieness the normal school trips, conventions, flower and garden, and locals trying to visit before the blackouts begin (for those with seasonal passes), sounds like a swinging time. I'm preparing for big crowds, but hoping for the best. Either way, I'll be there. Have had my ressies since July 2004! :cool1:

We will be there April 13-20. Schools in VT are out the week of April 17. I am expecting it to be crowded.

I was there the LAST week of April and the first week of May 2004 and it was busy when we arrived, but crowds diminished markedly during the first week of May.

Central NY ( Syracuse area) Has spring break the week of April 18th.
We are going the last week in April. We don't have kids so we didn't have to worry about spring break. I've seen informal polls also and it seems that this week has a few less school vacations but not that many less. Much less than Easter week though!!!

Last year Easter fell near that time, so yes, the parks were very busy. However, since Easter is in March this year, I don't think you will encounter quite the crowds. Remember, a crowded day in WDW is better than a solitary day at home. :earboy2:

We have gone the last 3 years around this time and we have thought it was not bad at all!!!! As long as you plan ahead and know what you want to do you should be fine. We love it this time year...it may be a little more crowded but the nice weather is worth it. We would recommend this time of year to anyone!

:smooth:

When calling WDW yesterday to ask questions about my ressie I found out that bookings seem to be pretty high for that week. I wanted to change my ressie and we were having a very hard time due to so much already being booked. I was really hoping for a code to come out for this time so I could apply it but now I'm worried there won't be one. :sad2:

Our family has always gone that time of year, and we USED to love it. Last year was the last time we would do the last week of April again. The crowds were quite large as a comparison from previous years. As stated in an eariler post, it seems like a lot of east coast schools are on break. We were constantly running into people from Boston, New York and New Jersey. It seemed like the whole east coast was there! LOL! We are going May 8th-15th this year. Hopefully we will have have better luck. Friends of ours were there last year at this time and reported wait times at the upmost of 15 min. Whether they were telling the truth or not we will soon see! :confused3

I expect it to be pretty crowded with all of Long Island and Northern Jersey off from school that week. We are just going to do as much as possible and just enjoy the fact that we're at the World. If given the choice, I'd go the first week in May. I just don't want to pull DD out of school this year so we'll deal with the crowds.
