Crowds/weather week before memorial day vs June 6-12?

I have two choices of when to go next year. Our kids get out of school May 21, so we can leave sunday may 23-may 29 or wait and go with my sister June 6-12. She can only go that weekend b/c she lives on St Simons Is,Ga and that is the week that they are hosting a big World leaders conference. Her DH is a detective and will be gone most of the week and he wants her to go out of town. My DH thinks that that week will be crowded and miserable. Neither one of us is affected by a lot of people, but we don't want to go when it is packed either! We went one time the 1st of March and it was pretty busy. We have only been the 1st week of May and 1st week of Dec on other trips. Our trip the 1st of May we thought the crowds were busier for sure but manageable but it was hot--98 degrees most days! But by the end of May and 1st of June it had cooled down some. I would really like to go with my sister but if most of you think it is too crowded we will go the earlier week-- We have 4 kids 11,9,5,and 4 and will be staying at the Wilderness cabins! I have been there in the beginning of June and although it was hot I didn't think the crowds were that bad. Crowds don't really bother me, though. I like to go when it's a little crowded because I think it's more fun than when the parks are empty. Although some schools are finished Memorial Day weekend, many schools in the north don't finish until sometime in June. It will probably be less crowded before Memorial Day but I don't think June will be horrible unless you really hate crowds. Have Fun!!

We were there this past May a week before memorial day. The M/Tue/Wed before the crowds were very manageable...the longest wait we had was 15 mins for BTMR. We used early entry so that might have made the difference. Starting thurs we saw an increase in crowds but still wasn't too bad with early entry. By Friday the parks got pretty crowded. Can't tell you much about the actual Memorial Day weekend cuz we were at Universal with FOTL access...so we didn't notice crowds cuz we didn't have to deal with them!! I would def go that week again cuz the weather wasn't too bad and the crowds weren't too bad either.

We were there the second week of June 2003. It was VERY hot and muggy. The weather made us change our plans on the spot. We also ran into early closing times (MK closed at 7pm on Friday of our trip). Crowds were not too bad, but there were long waits for some of the major attractions and FPs seemed to run out early on "second-tier" attractions like Buzz and Jungle Cruise.
We have decided that henceforth we will schedule trips in cooler parts of the year. Our oldest is in 1st grade so we are tentatively planning to pull her out of school for 1 1/2 days so that we can go during a week in which the local school system has scheduled three consecutive teacher workdays in March.

The crowds are manageable during this time. We were there both times for two years. I do believe they were a little lighter before Memorial Day weekend vs. that time in June. Either way, the crowds are fine. Go early, take advantage of Fastpass if necessary, and have a great time. Being from a dry climate, I found it very humid and the late afternoons were pretty unbearable unless you were in a pool or airconditioning. We just took breaks during this time from the parks to keep cool.

We were there June 10-17. I found the heat tolerable. Afternoon showers averaging 45 min. Crowds were tolerable, did everything we wanted. Electric Light Parade was unbelievably crowded, some rude pushy people. Gay days are the first week of June. I understand MK is very,very crowded ( i believe sat) of that week. You may want to check those dates for 2004. I would go again during that time.
