I am helping a girlfriend plan a trip, how are the crowds in late January and early February? I know to avoid President's Day, but is it still warm enough that early in Feb to enjoy the water parks etc? Thanks!

The crowds are wonderful - there aren't any!

I've been about 4 times during this period and the weather is unpredictable. Temperatures ranged from the 40's to the 80's. So you may or may not want to do a water park during your visit.

Have fun!

Ditto! No crowds, unpredictable weather. We spent 10 days and here's what we got: highs--2 days in the 80's, 7 days in the 70's, 1 day in the 50's (the low this day was in the 30's!) No rain, though. But...you never know. I would easily go at this time again, though. You would need to be flexible with your water park day, because you don't know when/if it will be warm enough. I think the crowds were low enough to allow flexibility though!

Even with the unpredictable weather it's my favorite time of year to go! Crowds are almost nonexistent, you're not dripping wet with sweat and it's dry--no afternoon thunderstorms. In January 2003 it got really cold, record breaking lows in the 20's, but that was only for our last 2 days, the days prior were in the upper 60's, low 70's.

With my boys being older now (in middle & high school) we just can't pull them out of school like we used to as it's too hard for them to catch back up when we return.

So we've resigned ourselves to the fact that we go during the summer, or not at all. :sunny:

We were there Jan 27-Feb 1 this year and were thrilled! It was in the 60's and 70's every day and rained only once. The evenings were chilly, but we have a toddler and preschooler and were in for the night by 8:30 or so and it didn't bother us in the least.

There were NO crowds that week. We waited in line (at the most) 10 minutes on things like Space Mountain and Pirates of the Carribean, but we were moving the entire time so it didn't seem long at all. We did the child swap on Test Track and the crowds were so low that my husband and older son were able to ride twice without getting off!
