Crowds/weather in May?

Just wondering if anyone knows if May is a good month to visit. Do you think they will still have the special parades/fireworks and things. Was thinking May 19-28th time frame. I don't know how busy it will be.

May has great weather (warm and sunny, but not super hot). Weekends are always crowded, but weekdays aren't too bad since most schools are still in session. The 50th celebration will still be going on, so the parade should be daily and fireworks will still happen at least on weekend evenings.
