Crowds/wait times for last week of January?

Depends on who you ask, but I, personally, think its a great time to go. We've done that week several times, and I love the low crowds and typically milder climate. That said, we contend with ride closures, shorter nights, and the potential for bad weather (usually bring jackets, etc.). So, its all about what is important to you. For me, lines is the main thing - we don't like lines. So, if we can, we go during that time (late Jan, early Feb), because of the low(er) crowds.

We were there last year during this time and the crowds were very manageable. However, there were very large tour groups from South America on site. So it wasn't as empty as we expected. Also, as PP noted weather was not that great and none of the parks were open past 9:00 pm.

We always go late January and love it. Low crowds are key although we have run into some tour groups as well that we found to be rude (adults shoving our kids out of the way at parades/fireworks etc). But you will come across some rude people no matter when or where you go. I do miss using the pools on the weeks it is really cold but the January prices (especially with AP discount) make up for it.

I'm going during this week and I'm expecting crowds. Or at least a crowded feeling. With the Pro Bowl and rides not running to full capacity since it's a type of off-season for Disney, that leaves more people in the park and fewer people in line. Disney is doing their best to disperse the crowds throughout the year and make it be somewhat even at all times. Good in theory.

We went the last week of January ninel years ago- when there were paper fast passes to get. We had been used to Thanksgiving week so I was ready with my Fast Pass strategy when the park opened. Rushed to a FP machine and it was covered up- I was like- omg- why is this one broken. A CM must have seen my face and kindly came up to me and asked - ma’am, have you ever visited during this week? I replied no. He said trust me, you won’t need FP. The machines weren’t open all week.
Again, this was a while back, but it was the most empty I’ve ever seen the parks. Weather was iffy- in shorts part of the week and pants/sweatshirts the other. My kids are older now and we are much more limited on the times we can visit, but I wish I could go back during the slower times like this.

is this a good time to visit ?

Anytime you can come is a good time to visit....

This year, I think it'll be nicer than usual because pandora probably moved some vacations to summer or later instead of winter/spring. It's been known to be pretty crowded though. Keep in mind, nicer to swamped is not that different these days. nicer than stoopid crowded doens't mean not crowded.
