Generally the crowds in December peak the week before Xmas and the week after Xmas. The first couple of weeks of December used to be a low crowds, but they have been increasing the past several years with all of the shows on Travel Channel, Food TV, etc. plus the deals that Di$ney has been offering. Still a great time to go, IMO, considering the decorations, generally lower crowds and cooler weather. Just stay away 12/5-12/10, which is our next visit. ;)

HEY - we're going 12/5 - 12/10 - I'm hoping everyone else stays away too!!!

LOL :)

Did I mention the weather is really bad then? Crowds are horrible. The Santas are mean, too... ;)

-Kevin

Yeah, so, you should stay home!!!! :rotfl:

Seriously though...............

stay home!!!

LOL

I do hope it's not too bad................ it's our first time going to see all the decorations, etc......

Well, you guys are going to feel real bad from your antics when I tell you that we are trying to plan our Disney wedding during that time. :rolleyes1:lovestruc
....not til 2011 though, so you are safe!!

We are trying to find a date that has lower crowds and is during the Christmas decorations and events, but NOT during Christmas or Thanksgiving!

AWWW - congrats on your wedding............ and you can plan it any time you want, just not during 12/5 - 12/10 --- LOL

How fun though........... I'd love to have been able to get married there!!! What a dream.......... I'm happy for you!!! :goodvibes

I like the full week prior to whatever week Christmas falls on. So this year, my ideal week in December is the 12th-18th. Still value rates, its after PW and with this yr's Christmas being on a Saturday, many folks will end up comin gon the 18-19th so that previous week should be empty. relatively speaking.

The week of Thanksgiving is super busy. The week immediately following Thanksgiving is usually pretty slow. The second week after Thanksgiving the crowds begin to pick up and it just gets busier until after New Years.

OK Dishoppy and Wendypooh. Add another to the 12/5 to 12/10 calendar. I think you both should stay home and I'll write a wonderful trip report for you and take lots of pictures LOL!! :rotfl:

We are going Dec 12 -18. From what I heard it is a slow week compared to Christmas week and all the Christmas stuff is avaliable. It helped that we got a 40% pin and that was a week that we could use it for.

I'll up the offer; all 3 of you stay home and I'll send you personalized CDs full of PP photos from our first Christmas trip. :thanks: :santa:

Ooh! That's good to know! That was when we are thinking of going for next year!

I would go the 2nd week of December (like December 10-17, 2011). Pop Warner is usually the first full week if that makes sense. We try to go the 2nd full week when those kids are back in school. Looking forward to our Dec 10-18 stay. :thumbsup2 We haven't been in December for 4 years so this will be refreshing.

Dang, now there will be three of us in the parks. Let's just coordinate which park is ours for the day for that trip. :thumbsup2

Its all relative, but I would say the crowds during that time keep getting bigger and bigger. We always head down around mid December and leave around the 23rd. Depending on what days the holidays fall on and how the week gets spread out play in also. At any rate its been consistantly getting more crowded over the last 5 years.

It was busy enough last year we're opting for early January 2011. Again the holidays are on the weekend so hard to say what week most people will take off.

The same as everyone is saying! The crowds are fairly decent in the first 2 weeks of December. After that, stay at your own peril. :rotfl: Or make sure you have one heck of a plan.

I'm *planning* on a Dec 3-14 stay myself. Or a bit shorter. I also have a concern about getting back home; hate snowstorms.

It definitely is value season, so you should be able to find good deals, both on & off-site. :thumbsup2

I was there Dec 12th-17th last year and we had a blast! Because of free dining the crowds were slightly elevated than the last time I went in December, but I don't remember waiting more than about 10-15 minutes for any rides (except for the time DBF uttered the phrase "We don't REALLY need a fastpass do we?" on Test Track.)

I hope you have a beautiful wedding!

We were there this week 4 years ago, no crowds at all, but it was cold, and I mean cold I wore a leather coat under my winter coat, boots and gloves every night 30's days did warm up to the 50's but very windy.

I went Dec 12-19th last year..Low low crowds. The weeks before that were more crowded
