Crowds the week BEFORE Labor Day?

I've heard that the parks aren't as crowded at the end of August, but with Labor Day being later this year (Sept. 6th), I'm wondering if this will still be the case.

We're thinking about going August 29th thru Sept 4th.

Any idea on how busy it might be? How about the weather???

wish I could help you. Never been at that time. We have been there the week after Labor Day and while hot, the crowds were great. Maybe someone else could help????

This is the week we usually go and the crowds have been light in the past. I did hear that last year it was much more crowded because of the Fairytale package. Most schools are back by then, especially since Labor Day is so late this year.

Since our schools throughout Wisconsin aren't allowed to start until after Labor Day, I wasn't thinking that other states would be starting earlier. But, now that I think about it, my niece/nephew, go back to school in mid-August.

Also, I checked Disney's 'seasons', and this appears to be "Value Season" which would lead me to believe it's not nearly as crowded as the rest of the summer.

Anyone have an opinion on the week before Labor Day versus the last week in October??? I know about MNSSHP, but wasn't planning on attending it this time around. We'd just be going then because the kids have some school days off.

We have gone the week before Labor day for the past 2 years. Last year did seem more crowded than the previous year, however with arriving at park opening, doing EE at MK and AK, and using FPs when needed, we had very few waits for rides.
The weather is pretty hot, but thats how we like it. In 2002 it rained a lot,and not just the typical afternoon showers. Last years we did get the afternoon showers but they always seemed to work around our schedule, LOL!
We would be going that week again this year, however our APs wont still be good so thats why we are going earlier.

Are the parks disserted after Labor Day? Do you only see mostly adults? We will be arriving the Friday before Labor Day and leaving the following Friday. Will PS after Labor Day be necessary?
