Crowds the week before Christmas - Give me the poop...

We've been spoiled in always going to the world the week after Thanksgiving and enjoyed very small crowds. Due to school issues we are limited to taking our 2007 trip the week before Christmas. We would arrive Dec 16th (Sunday) and leave Dec 22 (Saturday).

What kind of crowds are there the week before Christmas? I know we'll probably see an increase towards the 22nd but are we in good shape the first part of the week?

We'll be there 16-24 and this will be our fourth trip at that week.

The crowds are managable throughout, although you will notice more folks as Christmas draws closer.

We are early risers and get to the park when it opens and it still feels like we have the place to ourselves for awhile.

It's fairly crowded, but not unmanagable. You'll have a good time. Still plan on using fastpasses though, and setting up your dining reservations well ahead of time.

We went at this same time last year and felt the crowds were quite manageable. We did do the parks early in the day and went back to our hotel for the afternoon. Then headed over to another park to eat dinner and usually hang out for a little while. We enjoyed it. The early part of the week was incredible as the lines on Sunday for the RnR were like 15 minutes top all day. It was a great time, great weather etc.

And of course, nighttime at the parks is really when it shines this time of year. Incredibly beautiful. What an atmosphere.

hey all...ill be in disney the 17th-22nd also OKW and i can't wait. im not worried about crowds at all. then again it can't be worse then crowds in the middle of the summer when all the kids are out of school. and even if it is crowded the break in the heat will make up for it. either way its disney and it will be a blast and i can't wait. see you all there!

We went a couple of years ago during the period December 13-20th. As the other posters have stated it did start to get more crowded later on in the week; still very managable though. The key was getting an early start before the parks got crowded.
