I totally understand that the week before Easter will be super crowded with Easter being later this year and coinciding with Spring Breaks and such, but what about the week following Easter? Are the crowds typically huge after a holiday? This will be our 6th trip in 3 years but our first trip at the end of April...Ive never done DL during crowded season and im starting to get a little nervous!!!! :confused3

Thoughts? Opinions? :flower3:

TIA!!!

Also a very big week for Spring Breaks from schools. Typically, the week before and the week after Easter are the two busiest weeks of "Spring Break season" at DLR.

Sorry...

But remember, you're at Disneyland! Plan for busy and have a blast!

You should be fine. Most southern California schools' spring break ends by the 22nd this year, so at least most of the local crowds will be back in school. You might have some residual crowdedness from Easter/out of town guests but you should be fine.

It shouldn't be super crowded, but it certainly won't be a light crowd.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the info!!! hoping its just fine, I can handle some crowds, and the kids are old enough that they are patient in lines, so im sure we'll do alright! thanks again!

The week after is still considered really busy spring break season. We went this time two years ago, the week after Easter, and when booking our room the GCH hotel informed us that they'd still charge peak rates until the week after Easter had ended as it was still peak spring break time. I thought they were joking. We ended up moving our trip out one week and glad we did because crowds the week we had planned on were pretty heavy.

Dreams is right, you'll be at DL and have a great time! Just use your FPs and be there early :)

We are going this week too and from my research it looks like very high crowds through Wed. :goodvibes

We'll be there too, pre-cruise. I think it will be very crowded, but we've been to Disney World at Christmas and I truly don't believe it is possible to be more crowded than that, lol. We can take it!

Be prepared for huge crowding that week. AP's are blocked during holiday weeks because of the extreme crowding, and if last easter was any example, it will be packed.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it's better to be prepared.

We'll be there that week, too. Things working in our favor: all colleges, plus all public schools in California, Utah and Nevada will be done with spring break. Easter is late this year, so schools that are sometimes staggered are all doing it the week before. (I researched this - dork that I am.)

However, we're still using Ridemax and Disneyland Inside Out to mitigate the crowd issues. :)

Hmmm.... not sure whether to say it and be the "bad news bear" or just let it sit and not share true information.

There are many local schools that have their Spring Break that week.

Be ready for it to be busy, but also, don't fret about it. You're going to Disneyland. Enjoy!

For those going the week *after* Easter, yes it will be crowded. But not as crowded as the week before. Traditionally, the week before and after Easter are the busiest weeks of the Spring Break season. But as a few others above have posted, Easter falls later in the calendar year than normal, so many Spring Breaks (though not all) are scheduled beforehand.

In this forum's own 2011 Spring Break Poll thread, 73 DISers said their breaks were the week immediately before Easter, while the week after Easter had only 39 votes. That's a pretty significant decrease. Although, this was a completely un-scientific poll, so take it with a grain of salt.

For comparison, here are the Easter dates from the past few years and into next (courtesy of timeanddate.com). As you can see, Easter is later in the calendar year for 2011. One week after Easter and we're into May!

2005 - March 27
2006 - April 16
2007 - April 8
2008 - March 23
2009 - April 12
2010 - April 4
2011 - April 24
2012 - April 8
2013 - March 31
2014 - April 20

Regardless, be prepared for some crowds and enjoy your trip! And if crowds are lighter than expected, consider it a nice bonus. :goodvibes

Wellllll, yes, but....

The poll also was setup in a way that excluded the weekends in between so April 23rd and 24th aren't represented, neither are April 30th and May 1st.

Lots of schools have the last week of April off. Also, lots of people without children visit DLR. The week after Easter is just a busy week.
