Crowds the end of May

I need some help.

We usually go when we know it won't be too crowded.

But we are in desperate need of a get away.
We are looking from now until the end of May, before Memorial Day.

Any guesses on a quiet week until then?

Any help would be great.

We're driving down from Atlanta for a quick two day stop in the parks on Wednesday-Thursday before Memorial Day weekend. Then we'll spend the weekend with some family nearby. Can't wait!

We went last year beginning May 24th. Yes, the crowds were substantial and it was sticky (humid). I do wonder when it is almost not crowded? We went February 4th, this year, and yup...crowded. I consider waiting in line 50 minutes for Zapping Zurg to be crowded. I say...go in May, get in line with the other folks and have a dandy time! WDW is great every day!

This May is the "Big Celebraton " kickoff. I would expect crowds.....

There is some sort of Althletic tournament (Triathlon?) with some 2,500 participants and their families taking place on May 22nd near Fort Wilderness. They anticipate much of that area to be closed down that morning due to the event. I expect they'll be hitting the parks before and after. I read this here yesterday.

Check out Expedia or a similar site and see when there is the most room availability. That may help in your decision.

I had had good luck with crowds in late May but depending on where Memorial Day falls, that can effect it. Crowds build steadily after the holiday. That's just my limited experience.
